Description
HERE IS A BEAUTIFUL COPY OF THE BEATLES "Please Please Me"
It is the first issue of the "B" variation labels. It is very rare according to "The Beatles Australian Records Labelography" I am the Platypus. There were 5 variations of this label. It has the Australian A2 sleeve dated March 1964 with the MONO/STEREO catalogue numbers and flip back sleeve. Our sleeve is brighter than the UK Original and EMI Australia used a photo of an early UK Sleeve to produce our sleeve. You can see the photo credit to the English photographer Angus Mc Bean on the bottom extreme right of the rear flip back cover.
Side 1 matrix is XEX 421-1N
Side 2 matrix is XEX 422-1N
The matrix numbers are machine stamped.
The photos form part of the description of the record so please use the zoom to have a good look. The cover is in EXCELLENT condition. The vinyl has a LOVELY,DEEP,DARK LUSTRE with only the usual scuffs and surface marks.
This record has been through a very time consuming MULTI-STAGE cleaning process and played in it's ENTIRETY on a $35,000 LINN SONDEK Transcription Turn Table. There are no SKIPS,JUMPS OR SCRATCHES.It has great dynamic contrast, improved bass performance,a vast improvement in overall sound stage clarity, increased stage depth, and a real sense of musical ease.It is EXTREMELY quiet between tracks, and the lead in, and lead out grooves.I have NEW records that are noisier than this.
I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THIS "B" VARIATION LABELLED RECORD, OF WHICH THIS IS THE FIRST LABEL OF FIVE, SOUNDS NEARLY IDENTICAL TO MY MINT 1ST VARIATION LABELLED RECORD. I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT EXACTLY HOW MANY PRESSINGS WERE DONE OF EACH OF THE FIVE LABELS BUT I WOULDN'T THINK IT WOULD BE MANY AS THE BEATLES WERE NOT WELL KNOWN IN AUSTRALIA AT THAT TIME.PERHAPS THIS RECORD WAS WITHIN THE FIRST 2000 PRESSINGS OF THE 1ST VARIATION OF THE ''B'' LABEL.NO MATTER WHAT, IS IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY EARLY PRESSING.
MY ''A'' VARIATION LABELLED RECORD IS WORTH AT LEAST $1000 MORE THAN THIS COPY, SO IT MAKES THIS COPY FANTASTIC VALUE FOR MONEY.
I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH JUST HOW AMAZING THIS RECORD SOUNDS.IT IS ALMOST FAULTLESS.
It will come extremely well packaged and with a Nagaoka 102 anti-static record sleeve.
Thanks for looking.
BUY WITH CONFIDENCE. PAUL
