Hello there! Many thanks for perousing my items! When you've looked here, you might like to check out some of my other items, I have some other very rare Beatles etc. items currently listed with many more to come, heck, I'd even suggest you add me to your favourite sellers to keep on top of all the goodies that I'm going to list over the coming months!
I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers. I will only post completely insured and tracked.
This week I'm selling lots of Beatles goodies amongst other stuff! So check them out!
The Beatles' debut LP launched them off on their journey into the annals (make sure you spell that right!) of popular musical history. The very first pressings of this LP were released with the (very soon to be outdated) GOLD style Palophone labels, first with "Dick James" credits for certain songs, then switching to the correct "Northern Songs" credit. These were the "1st" and "2nd" pressing respectfully, and few produced in very small numbers each. Often on Ebay you'll see a copy of this LP described as a "3rd" pressing, where it was a very early yellow and black label, before they had started to add the publishing date, these are rare, and weren't produced in large numbers themselves, but they are wrong top describe that as a third pressing. There was an incredibly short run of these on the "new" Yellow and Black labels, which not only lacked the publishing date, but also contained a relic from the GOLD Parlophone copies, an extra mention below the Parlophone banner, but after the matrix code of "33 1/3". These copies are very rare, and I've heard some collectors say they were pressed in even smaller numbers than either of the Gold Parlophone pressings. I'm not sure, and I do know that these don't currently hold the same rediculously exciting thrill of holing a Gold Parlophone in your hands, but I've heard collectors reel off pressing numbers to support the fact that these may well be as rare or rarer than Gold Parlophone copies, so this is definitely a title that you might want to hold onto as an investment, as more is discovered about it!
RECORD CONDITION: VG-, (Please Read Through!) A standardly looked after record, that has clearly been enjoyed, and well played, but still holds up. There is a general dusting of surface marks, taking some of the glossy edge off the vinyl's sheen, and some more significant marks/scratches, causing a little background crackle in quieter moments and the occasional tick/pop though nothing that will signifficantly detract from the playing enjoyment. However, there is a scratch on "There's A Place", I have test played this on two systems, one better, one lower quality player with a stylus that is due to be changed, both picked this mark up as a thud for a few rotations, the older stylus made it sound worse. It is the worst kind of scratch diagonally across the groove, so I wouldn't be surprised if it could even jump on some systems. By mentioning this so much I might be underselling the record, as apart from this it plays strongly, but I feel, better safe than sorry! Though the rarity of this listing is in it's rare labels, as they were produced in such minute numbers! RECORD LABELS: VG/VG+, The all important labels! Nice decent labels, with just a few light spindle marks around the central spindle holes on either side, which have caused wear-away to some of the black ink, causing the area around the central spindle hole to become white (moreso on Side 1 than Side 2) other than that, no further abbrasions, and absolutely no grafitti or stains. Very decent copy of a very exciting edition!
SLEEVE: G+, It's a Gold Parlophone sleeve (denoted by the hard right allignment of the photographer credit on the bottom right hand corner), but as you can see, it's in poor repair. The bottom edge has fully failed, and the top edge has failed half way. There is also grafitti (a crossed out address), and age yellowing etc stains to the back. Whilst all of these are common on these Gold sleeves, due to their manufacture, and time they were around, this is not a top copy of the sleeve, and you probably will want to upgrade it at some point in the future, but still a correct sleeve until you do!
