Description

Super rare Beatles single with no reserve for sale. It's the first pressing from 1963 with the type 2 label with no country of origin displayed. All markings are in accordance with http://thebeatles-collection.com/wordpress/2011/12/20/please-please-me-ask-me-why-parlophone-r-4983/

Catalogue number: 45-R 4983
(as a note: the prefix of "45" from the catalogue number was removed after March 1963 as well as EMI dropping the red label for the more familiar black label..Some of these black labels still have the "45" as they were pressed at the same time as the red labeled versions).

Matrix numbers Side 1: 7XCE 17217-1N
Matrix numbers side 2: 7XCE 17218-1N

*YOU WILL NEVER FIND AN EARLIER PRESSING*
THIS IS ONE OF THE VERY 1st 300 PRESSED BACK IN 1963....NOT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS COPY, THIS EARLY!

Tax code in the run-off: MPT1 side 1 & PT2 side 2.
(As a note: The 'PT' tax code was used up until the 26th of November 1962 and then changed to 'MT' from the 1st of January 1963...This 'MPT' tax code represents the transition between the two dates and two tax brackets)

The vinyl has a few surface marks as to be expected however no deep gouges or scratches. The record plays without skipping or jumping. A little background static during the quieter instrumentals but nothing a good clean with iodised water won't fix.
