EARLY 1970's PRESSING

The Sleeve: Side loading sleeve with original 7 digit format embossed number. In Very Good Plus to Excellent condition, fully laminated with only some minor creases, some light storage wear in form of record impression. All text legible and pictorials clear and glossy and has held original colour well. Inside the gatefold is excellent; smooth, glossy and clean with clear print and unblemished black& white square pictorials of each band member. 'The BEATLES' logo on the front is embossed and raised as it was on all first UK issue sleeves. UK Side loading sleeves normally had the 6 digit number, so this must be a rare early crossover sleeve with original first issue number which ranged from 0000001 - 6000000.

The laminate along the length of the spine is complete without any fraying, and all original title and catalogue number text is legible. The sleeve is firm and flat and intact, including the inner partition.

There are no rips or splits anywhere. The sleeve is sturdy and firm and hold the records and inserts well.

Inner Sleeves: Very Good Plus condition inner sleeves. from around 1970 UK pressings of the White Album came with plain white sleeves without windows, and one bottom edge corner having the EMI patent number 1,125,555 printed in black. It seems the process was reversed in Ireland having plain black sleeves, with that EMI patent number in white. Both are both still sturdy and hold the vinyl's well, no split edges.

Poster: Excellent Minus Condition. A couple of extremely light blemishes/ tiny creases along centre fold line, and no tears or rips, and has survived extremely well.

Four Portrait Photographs: Excellent Condition, no corner creases, and hardly ever removed from the sleeve.

The Vinyl: The vinyl surfaces range around Excellent Condition with some surfaces being slightly better than other. All surfaces have no feelable or deep scratches, some just havea few very fine stylus surface hairline marks/ wispy sleeve trails which are mainly viewable under strong light. There are no scuffs or warps or dinks in the vinyl or anything that causes any detractions or interference to the audio. The majority of the areas on all sides are completely blemish free, and the pressing sheen is still present all over with no dulling or groove wear. The records have received a moderate of amount plays commensurate with age and are in a far over average and respectable condition.

The records lay completely flat on the turntable.

Robust Early 70's vinyl's weighing at around 165 grams.

Labels: Very Good Plus. All text is clear and bright, the perimeter area around the spindle location is neat with no wear and most of them, and there are no spindle line traces to see in normal  light.

Mother/ Stamps   - There are no mother and stamper codes on either side, only the master matrix numbers as stated above.

HTM is hand-etched in the run-out on Side 1.

Harry T. Moss was a long-standing vinyl pressing engineer who started his career with EMI before The Beatles became famous. He was involved in cutting their original masters during the Sixties, and was instrumental in the early Seventies re-presses. It was not uncommon for sound engineers in supervising the production to have their initials stamped in the run-out (dead wax). It is much rarer to see initials etched in - often for 1st pressing's - this was not just common practice for EMI but also with other record companies such as Decca.

The Audio: The audio grades at Excellent across the discs. Both discs play through clearly on both sides, with no pops, no background noises such as crackle or hiss, and there are no skips/jumps or sticks. There are some light audible ticks, where to be expected i.e. the quieter parts on a couple of the tracks on each side/ lead-in’s on some sides, but on the majority the records play superbly without any static ticks, offering a a full bass original stereo rendition of which many critics regard as The Beatles finest masterpiece. The stereo channelling is perfect with no feedback or hiss, and the vocals are crisp and clear.

This LP will be securely delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stifferners.

New plain generic poly-lined inner sleeves will house the records, and the originals will be placed separately.

A new protective gatefold PVC 180 gsm gatefold sleeve is included as shown to house the LP.

This White Album will be delivered by recorded delivery in the UK.

Overseas postage will be tracked all the way and a tracking number given.
