Sleeve:
Very Good to Very Good Plus condition. A few thumbnail creases to the laminate and an area of discolouration on the rear panel, but otherwise has retained its glossy bright colour. The spine is still clear white and unfrayed with clear title text. The length of the spine is also completely intact without any fraying, as are all edges and the opening side. There is a very very minor amount of edge wear/ dirt build up to the fold-overs. This is the 1st issue sleeve i.e. the tear on John Lennon’s jacket not yet airbrushed out, and printed and made by Ernest J. Day Ltd (their contract came to end around this time therefore much harder to find these).
This is a very neat example with no writing or writing imprints.
Inner Sleeve: Correct tracing paper lined inner sleeve omitting the ‘Patents Applied For’ text. It is still completely intact and unbelievably the opening edge has no fraying.
Vinyl: In Very Good Plus condition with several ultra-light wispy hairlines revealed under bright light which are superficial to the surfaces i.e. nothing obtrusive to the audio and certainly nothing that can be considered anything near like a scratch. There are no imperfections which detract from its more than Very Good appearance. The surfaces still project a bright glossy pressing sheen all over, and are clean. There is no groove wear, warps, scuffs or scratches. I’ve tried to highlight the hairlines as best as possible in the photo. It’s not perfect vinyl but I think it’s as good as is likely to be found.
The Labels: Very Good. Some play-use eviden as the previous owner who had it from new has not been very careful locating it on the spindle point, however this belies the condition of the vinyl which has been more carefully look after.
The Audio: The audio is pretty much faultless with just the occasional light tick evident but only really noticeable in ‘You Won’t See Me’. Otherwise barely noticeable and nothing on the vinyl surfaces to create any discernible loss in audio quality. No crackle, pops, skips, jumps or sticks or unwanted noise. Plays smoothly on both sides with lucid detail and warm mono bass. Even ‘Michelle’ which is notorious for distortions on these Loud Cuts, is faultless. At least Excellent audio if not better.

The -1/-1 matrices as this one is, was quickly withdrawn after its release due to an unbalanced bass-line, giving it a more edgy sound, hence the term ‘Loud Cut’.
