"RUBBER SOUL" PARLOPHONE PMC 1267 MONO PRESSING
The record plays with a lovely rock sound of early Beatles recordings.
The first mix of Rubber Soul sounded different from what we hear today. These earliest mixes only ever appeared on the mono mix and can be recognised by the matrix numbers XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1 and later -1 & -4 in the runout grooves.The matrix"-1 (one)" cuttings of the mono UK "Rubber Soul" are reported to be different from subsequent versions (so-called "Loud Cut"), in that after they were issued, the EMI cutting engineers were requested to cut down on the bass, since early buyers complained of skipping needles due to mistracking. The earliest 1st press labels also had a space between * and the song tracks e.g. Drive My Car *. Later labels had no space so Girl*. This side 1 has the space between the tracks and the *. So we have the original LOUD CUT labels but has -4 -4 matrices so one of the earliest after the withdrawn LOUD CUT version. Side 2 label has NO space after the * . So we have two different label types after the earliest -4 -4 issues.
This is a second UK pressing on the Black / Yellow Parlophone label with "The Gramophone Co. Ltd" rim text and "Sold in The U.K." Solid mono to the rear and Garrod & Lofthouse printers credits.
"KT" tax code embossed on side 2 centre.
Mothers/stampers 4 1 2 RUL 7 RTA.
It is pressed on original 1965 heavyweight vinyl.
This is an original 1965 pressing with XEX 579-4 & XEX 580-4 matrix marks.
COVER. Some small laminate spider lines. Some minor shelf/corner wear. Not surprising for a record that is nearly 58 years old.

Comes with original EMI Emitex inner sleeve.
VINYL. Side one plays fully tested. EX.
Side two plays fully tested VG+.
VISUALLY. There is one non sounding hairline BUT any marks are NON SOUNDING.
LABELS. As seen in the photos.
Will come with a NAGAOKA anti static inner sleeve

- NEAR MINT ~ visual inspection has revealed that the record plays noiselessly. If there are any surface marks these will be noted in the listing.
- EXCELLENT ~ The record shows some signs of being played but there is very little lessening of the sound quality. There may be some light crackle but NO major problems like LOUD clicks. Occasional soft tics are acceptable. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
- VERY GOOD ~ The record has obviously been played many times but displays no major deterioration in sound quality. despite noticeable surface and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items without any major defects is acceptable
