BUT OTHERWISE LOVELY AUDIO THROUGHOUT ON MY TOP END REGA TURNTABLE.

BACKGROUND HISTORY

First “Loud Cut” pressing. December 3, 1965. “Loud Cut” matrces: XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1. When “Rubber Soul” was initially mixed it was slightly different to how we hear it today.

These early mixes only ever appeared in mono and are distinguished by the matrix numbers XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1 in the deadwax. It’s argued that these early presses were unbalanced with a muddy bass and with an edgy, aggressive vocal sound. Since these copies seemed to lack body the decision was made to halt production whilst the mother platess were re-cut.

Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. With or without KT tax code on the label. “Loud Cut” copies can be found with both Times New Roman and Sans-serif label types, although Sans-serif is the more common and is likely to have continued production along with the Times New Roman issues.

First ever release the much sort after and rare ,so-called 'loud cut' version of Rubber Soul: 

"Shortly into the production run, 

EMI and John Lennon, decided that Moss had cut the album too loud and ceased production. 

After Moss re-cut mono lacquers on November 19, new metal parts were made, and Hayes resumed pressing the album. 

The albums pressed with stampers generated from the initial lacquers were not destroyed and can be identified by the "-1" following the XEX 579 (Side 1) and XEX 580 (Side 2) matrix numbers..." 

Notes

CONDITION

The Vinyl IS VISUALLY Excellent

On initial visual inspection the playing surface looks SUPERB, LOVELY, GLOSSY AND MIRROR LIKE SHINE I can only see one or two VERY FEINT  hairlines under a strong light !!!

LOOKS SUPER APART FROM THE ONE SMALL BLEMISH !!!

SO BEING AS HONEST AND ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE:

There is a small 5mm JUST feelable scratch on Side 1, which luckily has no effect at all on the audio playback AT ALL, so just visual.

On side 2 as mentioned above there is a couple of NON FEELABLE  marks on Track 2, (SEE PHOTO NUMBER 12)

One of these causes a one word skip on this track midway through the song GIRL only so,

Apart from this, a Superb Audio Experience on the rest of this rare vinyl !!!!

Any other marks that could possibly be seen under a stronger light would be caused by the vinyl been slid in and out of its sleeve! 

Importantly STILL a Lovely clean example of this RARE press from 1965.

The Audio Quality 

A professional clean may well improve this even further ? but

A super playback with just minimal background crackle on run ins and between some tracks. as soon as music starts not noticed at all !!!

The very minor issue on Track 2 , Side 2 exists as mentioned, but that's it !!!

I have played this through track for track at very loud volume on a top REGA system,  the audio is awesome! 

Crystal clear and vibrant through out, with (no) distortion or any signs of groove wear at all  !!!! 

THIS AUDIO IS RATED AT THE VERY TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES! 

UNBELIEVABLE FOR A VINYL THAT IS 55 YEARS OLD !!!!! 

The Labels:  Near Mint 

These are super ! SOME FEINT SPINDLE LINES can be seen on each side, angled in strong light but concentrated around the centre hole only.

Confirming this has definitely been played BUT sparingly since 1965 , AMAZING !!

The Outer Cover  NEAR MINT

This is the original Garrod and Lofthouse Laminated Trifold Printed cover , in superb condition !!

VERY nice clean appearance front and rear !!

NO RIPS OR NASTY NAMES WRITTEN ON ETC

The original Inner Sleeves  Near Mint

This is the original correct Rice Paper Poly lined Emitex inner sleeve

Looks like NEW, Crisp and White with just very light minimal creases ONLY
