A rare first press mono copy of The Beatles Rubber Soul LP. 1965.Yellow and black Parlophone labels PMC 1267.
Orig.first pressing,so called "loud cut" XEX579-1/XEX580-1.

Sold in U.K.printed on labels.
 KT tax stamp on side two.

Owned by me from new,this record has been well cared for and only played on high end kit.
Vinyl
The vinyl has been inspected under 100w lamp.It has plainly received lots of plays but is visualy in excellent condition with no nasty marks or scratches. There is some light paper scuffing and two non audio impacting hairlines,which do not interfere with play at all.
Upon playing the opening run in is very quiet and track one plays without any interference or distortion.Run in to track two is almost silent and track two plays perfect with exraordinary clarity.Run in to track three is again almost silent and track three plays perfectly.Run in to track four is again almost silent and track plays excellent with just slight thickness on the "s" sound sporadically,due to the pressing.Run in to track five again is virtually free from noise and track plays beautifully.Run in to track six again is silent and the track plays great.To be highly critical there is some very slight sporadic static crackle which is evident  on track seven, "Michelle";this is always the weakest track on this album as I have heard dealers mention
Side two run in is very quiet and the first track plays well with just a hint of static.Run in to track two is quiet like the others and track two plays with good clarity and definition.Run in to track three is very quiet and track three plays with great clarity,picking up the hand-claps and other detail in the music.Run in to track four is very quiet and the track plays well with just a hint of static in places.Run in to track Five is quiet and the track plays well.Run in to track six again is very quiet and the track plays well with superb base line from McCartney.Run in to track seven is quiet,some slight thickness of the "s"sound in parts,which is probably due to the pressing, but nothing to disturb the enjoyment.
Overall the sound is rich,clear and well defined with good base reproduction,which is typical from this first press,loud cut mono record.
 No warping,lies perfectly flat on the deck.
No loud pops,clicks or sticking and jumping.Please allow for minor static surface noise on run ins.
Plays superb throughout with nothing to spoil the enjoyment of listening.
I would grade audio as a high Exc.
Labels
The only shortcoming is a slight damage to the label on side one.There was a sticker which I removed and very faint black biro mark of my name which I applied as a teenager.Please see photo.
There are also spindle traces around the hole.Side two is totally clean and undamaged but does contain spindle traces around the hole.
Sleeve
The sleeve is the Garrod and Lofthouse patents pending.

The laminated front sleeve is fully intact with no marks or writing or seam spliting.There is no laminate lift or creasing.Colours are bright and glossy with no fading.The opening edge is still crisp.The only wear is some slight corner rubbing to the open edge corners,which the photo should show.The spine is not creased and fully readable.The unlaminated reverse side is clean with some slight brownish aging in part.The flip-backs are sound with no rips or unsticking.No pen marks or writing.The inner sleeve is the original Emitex tracing paper lined with some inevitable creasing where it has entered the outer sleeve;no rips, tears,marks or seam splitting.
I would grade sleeves as Exc.
The record has been owned by me from new and was played on a Thorens deck and Linn cartridge.More recently in the last thirty years it has only been played a handful of times on a Rega P7 and Exact mm cartridge.It was test played using Stax earspeakers after being professionally cleaned by my local friendly record dealer who helped me grade the record.
Vinyl and sleeve graded using U.K. record collectors grading.I have tried to be as accurate as possible in my description however grading is a somewhat subjective excersise.
Please remember this is a 46 year old vinyl and although the pressing does have some superb unique qualities it does not have the equal technical finesse of many modern digital recordings.
