The original UK LP release from the Beatles, prolific in the charts with absolutely brilliant singles.
This album was pressed, a lable exec's daughter got a copy hot off the press..... and it made her needle jump from the grooves!
The pressing was found to be be too vivid - too loud for some players!!
A quick message to cut another master - not as hot - and that became the next run to hit the shelves and be the standard cut pressing.
They were the No. 1 best band of the times, and the music still appeals to every new generation.
The albums were exceptional.
They were still starting out with recording and they were very busy at this period in demand for gigs, TV appearances, photo sessions, and press sittings.
This initial FIRST PRESSING went quickly in preorders, was spotted as a mistake and rectified immediately, making THIS a limited rarity sought after by collectors.
Many more master pressings were pressed subsequently, and the lp soared up the 1965 charts.
I should add that the solid heavy vinyl discs sound GREAT in Mono!
Listening to these masters leaping from the speakers is a real "Wow!" experience!!
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades VG to VG+.
Nice shine, a couple of areas of light scuff, and a few intermittent surface markings.
A deeper one into the vinyl on last track 'Run For Your Life', not affecting play.
Playing well and sounding amazing - indeed this is vivid 'upfront' sound!
There are some occasional 'pips' heard, between tracks.
Not a 'top copy', but a worthwhile copy of this rare edition.
Yellow and black FIRST EDITION Lables are VG++, no stains, stickers or pen, some spindle lines visible.
Raised 'K T' tax code on Side Two centre.
The rare first pressing run copy!
The 1st print "Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. PatentsPending" LAMINATED 3 tab 'FLIPBACK' COVER is VG- overall.
There's a 2" split at the top seam, a distinct impression from the disc, and an address on the rear card.
A PATENT Nos. paper inner sleeve included.
