A UK ORIGINAL pressing from the brilliant Beatles - and with George Martin attending to production as usual.
This copy sounds really great, clean and clear, no crackles or hiss - a beautiful archive copy and it sounds wonderful.
There were some issues with the initial mastering of this release, and especially noticeable for the Mono pressing, which got a most noticeable re-mastering so the very first run has since been famously called 'the loud cut'.
It wasn't until the 5th master that the best result was really to come.
Attention was brought to the Stereo pressing too, and the most satisfactory result was deemed to be this 3rd master, which was retained through the 60s. Of course, most record buyers weren't audiophiles - and often had boxed 'record changer' decks, so it was only about playing the great songs and music whatever the equipment. Now, it's more important about reproduction quality, and collectors care about the finest production..... and of course the condition of the records!
This copy is quite special - outstandingly clean, the disc is in fine shape all round!
The cover is even in shrink, which was NOT the normal thing in The UK, so we have to imagine this copy may have been exported originally to a 'special order' buyer.
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades NM-, a couple of very light lines visible under a bright lamp.
Labels are in NM condition, no stickers or stains.
The LAMINATED COVER is NEAR MINT-
Preserved in its shrink wrap, clean bright and without creases. The laminate has seen NO wear, and the rear is clean white card.
There's slight wear at the opening, a 'squiggle' of black pen on the rear - perhaps to signify that this wasn't for store sale!
Harrods and Lofthouse Ltd. triple foldover tab with "Patents pending"
A SUPER copy of an incredible and significantly important album, and an upgrade from this would be extremely hard to find!!
