Very rare UK withdrawn Yellow and Black Parlophone first pressing with remix 11 of Tomorrow Never knows. Labels have "Sold in the UK..." and "The Gramaphone Co..." text. Side two matrix has the all important XEX 606-1 denoting a very first pressing with the withdrawn remix 11 of Tomorrow Never Knows. It also has the earliest Mothers and early stampers. These very rarely show up for sale, it's been a long time since our last copy. Not a mint copy. The sleeve is very nice and the record would be very nice except for one short scratch on side two and one tiny scratch also on side two. The album has been cleaned on a profesional cleaning machine and play tested twice. Scroll down to get a complete run down of how every track plays.

Matrix:

Side 1) XEX 605-2 (1 M)

Side 2) XEX 606-1 (1 L)

The sleeve is in excellent condition with very little to report, infact not too far off near mint. Just a couple of laminate creases and the slightest touch of shelf wear. No writing, tears, splits, bends or ringwear.

The labels are in vg++ condition with just light spindle wear and a few spindle traces on each side. They also have a few light smudges, mostly on side one.

The vinyl is in vg condition. Still has its original sheen but has suffered from two scratches. The first is track one on side one and is tiny. The second one is three quarters of an inch across track three and half of track four on side two. However, this is not the usual trashed copy. There are some light wispy lines, the odd hairline and the odd scuff when viewed under a very bright light.

Playback:

Side One: Tracks 1, 2, 3 and 4 play really well. Track 5 has light background crackle. Tracks 6 and 7 play really well.

Side Two: Track 1 has a few light pops where the scratch is otherwise plays fine. Track 2 plays really well. Track 3 has light crackle and repeated light clicks. Track 4 has very low level pops during the first half. Between tracks 4 and 5 there are clicks. Track 5 has slight crackle on intro and then plays great. Tracks 6 and 7 plays really well, track 7 being the withdrawn mix of Tomorrow Never Knows.

Please note that our grading has nothing to do with the age of the record, we grade all records the same whether they are 40 years old or 1 year old.

Sleeve: Excellent (no tears, writing, splits, bends or ringwear. Not too far off near mint)

Record: VG (still has its original sheen with some signs of being played. Two scratches on side two as well as some wispy lines/hairlines and scuffs)

Our grading is strict so as not to disappoint, we have been selling on ebay since 1998 & know how important this is. Grading of records is done with the record angled under a 100 Watt bulb. Scans are of actual item up for auction. All records are packed securely & most importantly packed outside of the picture sleeve (in a plain inner sleeve) so as to avoid seam splits during shipping.

Near Mint
Almost mint. Very minor paper scuffs and very little else can appear on the vinyl. This will most likely have occurred during packaging, or removing the record from the inner sleeve but obviously it had been handled with extreme care. Any flaw should be very hard to see. The cover should look as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and/or age. Minor impressions to the cover (due to the outer edge of the vinyl resting inside) may be acceptable, however the artwork should be as close to perfect as can be.

Excellent
An excellent condition for vinyl will allow minor scuffs (Scuffs lay on top of the grooves) which are visible but only slightly.The wear should be minimal.The play should be close to perfect as well. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no ink wear. Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye. The corners can show a little white, meaning slight wear. No seam splits or writing on the cover or taped repairs.

VG++
As Excellent but with a larger number of scuffs, maybe a couple of hairlines (very light scratch that can't be felt) or a couple of marks. Sound quality should still be very close to that of an Excellent record with only minor crackle in quiet segments only, NO scratches that can be felt. Cover as Excellent but there may be a small seam split on the cover, or a very minimal amount of writing like a name written in small writing or a number. A VG++ record should be an acceptable record to live with if you aren't looking to pay the price of a Near Mint copy.
