This is the UK 1st STEREO Press of 'Revolver' by The Beatles. This rare press has the very earliest YEX 605-1 / YEX 606-1 matrix and the label includes the 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text. The sleeve is complete with Stereo corner text and is the earliest 'patents pending' laminated flipback Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.
The record is in Near Mint condition. The vinyl still has the most incredible original bright gloss, it has been played three or four times at the very most. The vinyl is still jet black, there is no whitening of the grooves at all. There are a couple of the very faintest wispy hairlines but these are from the inner sleeve. There are no play marks at all. It is absolutely superb. On playing the sound is rich, exceptionally vibrant and as clear as the day it was pressed. The labels are perfect. The black is solid, the text is immaculate and there is NO spindle wear, just the very lightest spider mark on side 2. It is absolutely sensational.
The original and earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' flipback laminated sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. The white is bright, the black is solid and the laminate is extremely flat and has a stunning shine. The edges are firm, there is just some corner wear and a few little spine creases. On the back of the sleeve the flipbacks are completely sealed and intact. The unlaminated black is completely unworn and the white text is sharp. The whole cover is in solid condition and the pinched spine is very firm with clear text on a bright background.
