Issue : UK 1st STEREO Press
This is the UK 1st STEREO press of 'Revolver' by The Beatles. This earliest press has 'The Gramophone Company' and 'Sold In UK' label text. The label also features Taxman on one line and Doctor Robert on the label but the mispress Dr Robert on the sleeve. It is complete with the original inner sleeve and the earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending,' pinched spine, Stereo laminated flipback sleeve.
The original heavy vinyl is in Very Good+ condition. It has a sensational bright gloss and the grooves show no sign of heavy play. The vinyl just has a few very light wispy marks on both sides. None of these are significant and as such when played the sound is extremely bold and has excellent clarity and separation. There is occasional slight background noise, however the voices are sharp, the backing is vibrant and each track is exceptionally bold and clear.
The Yellow and Black Parlophone label is completely clean, the black is bold, the silver text is sharp and the yellow is bright. There is just the slightest spindle wear. There is the KT Tax code on Side 1.
The original and earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' flipback laminated sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. The white is extremely bright and the black is solid. The laminate is completely flat with no bubbling or laminate lift at all, there are just a couple of laminate creases. The back has only the slightest wear to the flipbacks and a little discolouration, otherwise it is like new. The whole cover is very solid and the earliest pinched spine has clear text on a bright background.
