Description
- The Beatles originally released their double-disc compilation album "Rock 'n' Roll Music" in June 1976 on Capitol Records. In 1980 Capitol decided to reissue them with a different cover as two separate albums. This is a copy of the First Pressing of "Rock 'n' Roll Music, Volume 1" in 1980. It includes 14 tracks from six of their early albums.
- This copy of (SN-16020) is in excellent condition. The cover still has its gloss and is in Near-Mint condition with only the slightest edge wear. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays perfectly except for track B1, which for some invisible reason, has skips so I only rate it VG. Not sure if a good cleaning will fix it. It was mastered by Ken Perry at Capitol Studios in NYC and this copy was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Side One dead wax is etched SN-1-16020 S̶K̶B̶O̶ ̶1̶ ̶1̶1̶5̶3̶7̶ G1² #1 and stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL 0. Note the original SKBO matrix number from when it was a double disc release is etched and then crossed out in the dead wax.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 41 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
