THE BEATLES Rubber Soul 1965 UK 1st LOUD CUT mono vinyl rare. First “Loud Cut” pressing. December 3, 1965. “Loud Cut” matrix: XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1.
When “Rubber Soul” was initially mixed it was slightly different to how we hear it today. These early mixes only ever appeared in mono and are distinguished by the matrix numbers XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1 in the deadwax. It’s argued that these early presses were unbalanced with a muddy bass and with an edgy, aggressive vocal sound. Since these copies seemed to lack body the decision was made to halt production whilst the mother plates were re-cut.

This Vinyl is the early Sans-serif labels that tended to adorn the earlier “Loud Cut” copies of the album. Their distinguishing feature is that the * credit indicator on these labels are spaced away from the song title. Matrix numbers XEX 579-1 / XEX 580-1. Condition and details below:
SLEEVE , Is good all round some yellowing from its age on the white parts on the back. The front is nice to look at also. The edges are tidy with age related minor scuffs
INNER SLEEVE , Age related condition. It's not the greatest. The main sleeve and actual Vinyl are the best bits if I'm honest
VINYL , In Good condition both sides , some light scratches for age in certain light . The centre Labels show sign of age with some scuffs. On side 1 ( red biro) was used from when it was once in a record store. Please study pictures , All round a nice example of a first press
