Without a doubt this is the rarest and highest quality example of a
Stereo issue of "The Beatles Second Album" you will ever see!
A bold statement I know, but the following explanation and listing of it's unique features will bear it out.
Original pressings of this album do not list running times for "Long Tall Sally" or "I Call Your Name." This error was corrected in 1964 or 1965 when the running times for both tracks were added.
A second correction was made on January 20, 1966 changing the publishing credits from ASCAP to BMI for "You Can't Do That", "I'll Get You" and "I Call Your Name". This change, put through on labels made by Keystone for copies pressed in Scranton, wound up deleting the song time for "I Call Your Name", even though the time for "Long Tall Sally" is shown correctly!
Now, here is what makes this example the most scarce of all "rainbow" Scranton error copies. When the change was made to BMI for "I Call Your Name", Keystone accidentally misspelled that title as "I Call You Name"! The mistake was quickly corrected, so it is not known how many copies were made with the error, however, it is not pictured in Bruce Spizer's book on Capitol LP's!
The sound quality of this record is play graded at Mint minus.
The beautiful surface is also Mint minus.
The record is housed in the date appropriate Orange Capitol sleeve.
The album cover is housed in a very rare original in-store "Stereo" baggy wrap in VG+ condition.
This is a Scranton pressing with the number 2 printed at the lower right, back cover.
Capitol ST 2080, rainbow / color band.
There is not much more to say about this superb example.
