THE BEATLES - SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND - 1967 ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE MONO FIRST PRESSING
CAT NO: PMC 7027 - MATRIX NUMBERS: XEX 637 - 1/XEX 638 - 1
MOTHERS/STAMPERS: SIDE ONE 4/GMT - SIDE TWO 2/GML
VINYL: Retains a high shiny gloss finish. There are a number of superficial paper marks on both sides, but nothing which seriously affects play. There are no major defects, scuffs or scratches and no warping. SIDE ONE: VERY GOOD++ There are some very minor crackles between tracks but the audio remains unaffected, rich and clear. SIDE TWO: VERY GOOD++ One very light click on a few revolutions of "When I'm 64" but it is not intrusive - there are no other audio faults of any kind. LABELS: EXCELLENT. Original yellow and black Parlophone labels with 'sold in UK' and 'The Gramophone company....' text. There are a few spindle traces, but no dirt, marks or writing. "KT" tax stamp on side two.
COVER: VERY GOOD. Nice example of the famous Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold cover, with visible internal flipbacks. There is some minor scuffing to the bottom edge and some scuffs to the spine, but it remains readable and intact. There are also corner scuffs on the top and bottom of the spine, but on the whole it's pretty good. INNER SLEEVE - VERY GOOD+ This is the original red and white "psychedelic" paper sleeve which is intact, with no writing or marks, and unusually for this sleeve, NO seam splits. There is some minor wear to the opening edge. The sleeve carries the "patents applied for" text which proves it to be a very early edition. (The record will be shipped with a brand new plain sleeve to protect the original from damage)
INSERT - EXCELLENT. Original card insert with the Sgt Pepper cut-outs, intact and unmarked with no creasing.
OVERALL: I have owned many copies of this album and this comes in the top five per cent for its overall condition and appearance. It plays beautifully, and in this condition this record is now seriously hard to find.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.
