THE BEATLES. SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEART'S CLUB BAND. FIRST PRESSING. MONO. WIDE SPINE GATEFOLD COVER WITH FLIPBACKS TO CENTRE SPREAD. 'K' & 'T' LETTERING TO LABEL SIDE 1. "SOLD IN UK..." AND "THE GRAMOPHONE CO LTD..." TEXT TO LABEL. PMC 7027. XEX 637 - 1/XEX 638 - 1 MATRICES. INSERT WITH ALL CUT-OUTS INTACT.
VINYL VERY GOOD/COVER VERY GOOD+.
My listening equipment is a highly revealing Roksan Xerxes/Artemiz/Shiraz turntable, JDI pre/power amplification and Castle speakers.
Played on that system this LP grades Very Good (more details to follow soon)

MORE DETAILS ON LP CONDITION
Side one has a few loud clicks to the run-in groove. There is some background noise between tracks and quiet parts but this is largely overwhelmed by the powerful, clear mono sound which has no distortion. The background noise is only really noticeable on the track, "She's leaving home" and even then it's very easy to listen through. Side two has background noise to the run-in groove and quiet intro of track 1. There are a few clicks to the end of track 1 and the beginning of track 2. There is a little more background noise to this side, but it's still very easy to listen through. Even though there is some background noise this mono recording has such a huge central soundstage and the music is so clear and free of distortion that I believe it merits a Very Good grading. The laminated wide spine gatefold cover is very good with just some minor creases to the laminate and rubbing to the corners (see photos). It has the insert card with the cut-outs still intact. it has a plain white poly-lined inner sleeve.
