Description
So, after five decades of collecting vinyl and Hi-Fi, the time has finally come to downsize. Over the next few months, with great reluctance, I will be gradually selling off my treasured collection of records, cds and hi-fi equipment. It will take a while !!! For instant sale is a first UK mono pressing from 1967 of 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND' by THE BEATLES. This first pressing has :
- A Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold cover (flipback glue-tabs on inner spread); - A red half-tone print on white 'psychedelic' inner sleeve;
- A 'cut-outs' card insert (full-colour, single-sided. Printed signatures of Blake/Haworth at foot)
- A black and yellow logo label with silver text
- "The Gramophone Co." in the radial text and "Sold in U.K. Subject To Resale Price Conditions, See Price Lists" across label at centre, with "Made in Gt. Britain" at foot. - KT tax code on side 1 label - XEX 637-1 and XEX 638-1 matrices in the run-out grooves
The sleeve is in overall good/very good condition. However, there is some creasing in the lamination which you can see in some of the photos and some wear on the corners and especially on the spine. There is also a bit of damage on the left rear upper corner as you can see in photo 4. No writing or other marks. The original inner sleeve is in good condition but it is a little creased and it has a split on the bottom edge where the record has rubbed against it. The 'cut-outs' insert is in very good condition apart from a bit of creasing. Please study all the photos to see the condition for yourself. The labels are in excellent condition but there are some 'spindle trails'. The record is in good/very good condition with a few surface marks from the inner sleeve. It plays really well with only occasional surface noise/'crackle' mainly between tracks. However, there are a few annoying clicks during 'When I'm 64' but they are far and away the worst bits of noise on the album. The album will be wrapped in bubblewrap before posting to ensure that it does not get damaged on its journey. I will dispatch it in a proper record mailer and will post within one working day of purchase by Second Class post so that it gets on its way to you as soon as possible.
