CONDITION OF VINYL (visual grading):

SIDE ONE: VERY GOOD+

SIDE TWO: VERY GOOD+

Both sides of this 40 year old rarity are in very good+ condition and fall short of an excellent grading.  The vinyl retains its original gloss and appears virtually unworn.  There are some light surface marks on both sides of the LP which do not affect playback.   Both labels are in very good condition (see pictures), there are several light spindle marks on both labels.  The record plays very well throughout with excellent sound quality.  There is some extremely light crackle on the run-ins which is not noticeable during the tracks.  Although this LP has clearly been played several times, it has been looked after very well. 

CONDITION OF SLEEVE: VERY GOOD

The original fully laminated flip-back gatefold sleeve is in very good condition.  The sleeve is the rare 'Wide Spine' version, only the first batch of Sgt Pepper pressings had 'Wide-Spine' sleeves and are very hard to find.  The cover states 'Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.' on the bottom right rear of the cover.  There is some very minor feathering to the sleeve openings and some very light scuffing to the corners.  There are some light indentation marks to the cover.  The previous owner had written their name in biro on the sleeve twice on the front cover and twice on the inner gatefold flipbacks.  Since the cover is laminated I have been able to remove the ink from the cover, however, this has left some minor indentation marks in the sleeve which are not particularly noticeable (please see pictures).  The flat Wide Spine is intact and readable despite some minor creasing and a small split (see picture).

CONDITION OF 'FOOLS INNER' (Red/White inner sleeve): FAIR

The rare 'Patents Applied For' 'Fool's Inner' is present but unfortunately not in marvellous condition as there is a split down one side of the inner sleeve.  However, like with all of my listings, I have included a brand new polylined inner sleeve to protect the original vinyl. 

CONDITION OF CUT-OUT INSERT: EXCELLENT

The original cut-out insert is present and is in excellent condition.

COMMENTS:

This item is essential for any Beatles fan or collector.  It is now 40 years since this album was first issued so I am offering an overall VG, rare, complete 1st press with the sought after Wide Spine sleeve.  This item should please most collectors.  Good luck bidding!

PACKAGING INFORMATION:

This record will be sent to you in a high quality cardboard record mailing envelope and it will be protected by two strong cardboard stiffeners in order to prevent unwanted bending during transportation. The record will be placed in a PVC outer sleeve and “sandwiched” between the cardboard stiffeners. The envelope will be sealed with strong brown tape.
