Description
I am selling all my reels. They have been in my collection for over 20 years, stored on a shelf and well maintained. This is The Beatles' classic Sgt, Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band reel to reel tape. Songs include A Day In A Life, With A Little Help From My Friends, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and more. The reel is in excellent shape and runs at 7 1/2 ips (inches per second). The case is VG+ shape, with minimal scuffing and no corner splits (see photos). This is the one - this is the soundtrack to the Summer Of Love. A celebration of songs: Sgt. Pepper's, Lovely Rita, Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite, Getting Better, Fixing A Hole, When I'm Sixty-Four, Good Morning Good Morning, Within You Without You, She's Leaving Home... A really nice piece and at 7 1/2 ips, the sound is warm and clean - none of the pops & crackles that come with lps.
A note about the tape: In mid 1969, Capitol left the reel tape manufacturing business, contracting out to Ampex Tapes. Capitol (Ampex) stopped issuing new reel tapes in late 1971.
