Description
THE BEATLES SGT PEPPERS LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND UK 1ST PRESS MONO PMC 7027 VINYL
Coming from a large private collection and a smoke/pet free home, owned from new, the album remains in great condition.
This is a First Mono Press narrow spine release from 1967. Has the Northern Songs, NCB label credits and The Gramphone Co LTD rim text. K T Tax stamps on side 1 and the single piece Flip Top Garrod and Lofthouse Gatefold Cover. The inner sleeve is the plain white cover as opposed to the psychedelic red/white which were both issued. The additional original 'cut out' cardboard inner is also included.
In terms of condition elements I use the recognised Record Collector Grading System.
Cover: Remains in Excellent condition. Glossy front and back covers with some minor markings. The inner gatefold remains in beautiful condition. There is some sign of wear to the top spine corner which I have captured within the photos and all in line with age.
Inner Liner: White paper original with 'Patent Applied For' and 'Made In Great Britain'. The liner remains in great condition overall with some mild creasing and colour discolouration as would be expected in line with age.
'Cut Out' Insert: Remains in beautiful Excellent to Nr Mint condition having remained in the sleeve for many years.
Vinyl:
Rated as Very Good - would be classified as Very Good PLUS however there is a 'quiet click' on the first elements of track 1 side one (Sgt Peppers) and on Track 1 Side 2 (Within You Without You) a small scratch which causes a couple of jumps at the intro.
Other than the above, all other tracks are completely clean and in excellent sound quality condition throughout with minimal hairline markings.
Matrix Run Out Press Numbers and Stampers: First Pressing XEX 637 - 1 MGL 1 (Side 1) and XEX 638 - 1 MRP 8 (also known ineligible 'overstamp' at 9 o'clock)
Overall a beautiful original First Press of a classic Beatles Album in excellent condition overall.
As with all my vinyl's, the record will be removed from the original liner and inserted into a new pvc liner to avoid any issues during transportation. The record/sleeve will then be carefully packaged in a Vinyl Mailer for safe and secure delivery.
