You’re looking at “THE BEATLES’ STORY” with RARE “RCA” 1/2/3/4 Pairings. This is a nice MONO copy of this great 60 YEAR OLD DOCUMENTARY ALBUM on The Fab Four.  According to Stanley Panenka’s great book “INTRODUCING THE BEATLES RECORD PRICE GUIDE,” these RARE RCA  Pressings in NEAR MINT condition are valued at $650.00!…

*** Because of the record’s scarcity, it’s valued at 70% of the total price. The cover is more common, so it’s value is only 30% of the total price. ***

Why are these RCA Pressings so Rare?…

The vast majority of the albums for “The Beatles’ Story” contain records that have Sides 1 & 4 on Record One and Sides 2 & 3 on Record Two. This configuration was done to accommodate people who had turntables with Spindle Poles and a Balancing Arm that allowed for the stacking and continuous play of several records in a row.

Yet a small number of the East and West Coast records produced by the RCA Pressing Plant have pressings where Sides 1 & 2 are on Record One and Side 3 & 4 are on Record Two. Since the 1/2/3/4 Pairings were manufactured by a smaller subcontractor, RCA Records, they were pressed in far lesser quantities and are much scarcer and far more valuable than the standard 1/4/2/3 Pairings.

ALBUM CONDITIONS

You’re bidding on a really cool “Documentary Album” about the greatest band ever. You get two albums worth of the fantastic Beatles talking, and being talked about. This is a very nice copy of a 60 YEAR OLD GATEFOLD ALBUM that’s really hard to come by in this kind of condition. Here are the particulars:

BOTH RECORDS: Look: (VG+)  Sound: (NM) Play tested.  No skips. The only thing keeping these records from both being NEAR MINT is some surface rubs and some very light scratches that cannot be felt.  I just finished playing this album, and even on my cheap record player, it still sounds amazing.  There is only the occasional very light pop during some of the sequences and some very faint surface noise in the dead wax between a few others.  These audio flaws are minuscule and barely noticeable during play.  Both sides still retain most of their original luster.  (SEE IMAGES.)

LABELS: All four labels look fantastic with only the slightest evidence of Spindle Marks  .  (SEE IMAGES.)

GATEFOLD COVER:  (VG-) A descent example of this 60 YEAR OLD GATEFOLD ALBUM that’s hard to come by in really nice condition. (SEE IMAGES.)

Front: The front cover shows some definite ring wear and some aging. Despite these shortcomings, it’s still nice to look at. (SEE IMAGES.)

Back:  Same as the front. Some ring wear and some aging. Still nice to look at.  (SEE IMAGES.)

Inside:  The inside looks really great. Can’t even see any ring wear unless you put it directly under a lamp and squint real hard. (SEE IMAGES.)

Seams: Both seams on the front gatefold, and the top seam on the rear gatefold, were completely split. The bottom seam on the rear gatefold had a 2 inch split at the opening. I repaired all the splits with Clear Acid Free Tape.

Spine: All the text is present and clearly legible. There is some damage on the top and bottom.   (SEE IMAGES.)

SLEEVES: Comes with new generic sleeves.
