You are bidding on an original copy of The Beatles classic 1967 double A-side single - Strawberry Fields Forever / Penny Lane complete with the rare original picture sleeve.
This is an absolutely stunning record. It is unlikely that you will find one in better condition any time soon. It is an original very early pressing. The stampers are 3 GOG on Strawberry Fields side, and 1 GPO on Penny Lane side. The label has the KT tax code stamp and 'sold in UK..' text. It is a solid centre record.
Both sides of the record are visually a strict Exc+. There are very minimal spindle marks on the label. The vinyl retains its original glossy sheen and is totally unmarked. Both sides play M-, almost M. There is no surface noise, no distortion, no pops. It sounds as fresh as it did when sold in early 1967.
The original picture sleeve is in great condition. Very few of these sleeves have survived in decent condition as they were made from thin paper rather than card. This sleeve is unsplit, with very minimal creasing and sharp corners. The only defect is a small blue ink mark on the front bottom right. Without this I would grade the sleeve Exc-, but because of the mark I will grade it VG+.
Also included is the correct early 1967 Parlpohone sleeve. This is in stunning condition, with minmal creases to the very top. This sleeve is graded Exc.
This is an exceptional record and really is as good as they get. A near perfect condition first pressing of possibly the greatest single ever released.
