THE BEATLES, Sgt Pepper, NO A day in the life, mis pressed record label, UK mono LP.

PMC 7027, early mis pressed UK 1967 black and yellow Parlophone record labels.

A UK album in original condition, featuring:

1. a hard to find copy featuring a mis pressed record label on side two, as the track, ‘A day in the life’, has NOT been printed on the record label. It is hard to imagine how this could have happened at the EMI printing factory. This track title is still printed on the sleeve. Only a very small number of these 'mis pressed' record labels were ever printed as EMI were soon to spot this 'error', so making these mis pressed copies very difficult to find,

2. on side one on the record label there is an additional 'dot' printed within the line of text, 'Sold in UK', as it reads, 'Sold in .U.K.' etc,

3. the usual tax code of ‘KT’ is NOT embossed around the spindle holes on the record labels,

4. comes with its original period, plain white EMI, 'Patent applied for' inner sleeve.

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the sleeve is fully laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition, the spine has remained solid and strong, clean and white and most of the text on the spine is still readable. When the ‘gatefold’ sleeve is opened the two original top ‘flip backs’, ie fold over edges can be seen. There are NO tears, pen writing. splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE INSERT: is near MINT condition and is the original dark green card insert. There are NO tears, pen writing, folds, stickers or sticker residue on the insert.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original period, plain white EMI inner sleeve with ‘square’ corners with the printed text, ‘Patent applied for’. An excellent original clean fresh, white, crease free inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is made of the period quality heavy grade paper with a 'textured' surface on the inside. Theres NO pen writing, tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve.

THE RECORD: side one is in very good++ condition. Side two, there is a long circular 'mark' that runs with the grooves, see photo, that appears at the intro. to the track, 'Reprise', so I will grade here as being in 'good' condition, the rest of side two is in very good++ condition. The record is made from the period 1960s, thick, heavy vinyl. Each of the playing surfaces have remained dark and glossy.

The records 'engraved' matrix is: XEX 637 – 1 and XEX 638 - 1,

The record 'engraved', 'mother / stampers' are: ‘38 MMH’ and ‘2 MAL’.

THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in excellent++ condition. Each of the records labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
