Description
Beatles "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" . This is the 3rd (censored!!) 1970 Singapore pressing on black/silver Parlophone one boxed EMI labels : SLPEA-1006
GATEFOLD COVER PRINTED IN SINGAPORE "Printed in Singapore by Sin Sin Lithographers" (at bottom right rear corner). Magnificent high gloss laminated sleeve (front and back) . Complete with original cut out sheet.
This pressing is the rarest. It sold poorly due to government censorship, who took a hard line on 'drug references' in music . The LP was mutilated by the removal of 3 key songs! With A Little Help From My Friends, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, and A day In The Life. Bizarre,y they were replace by 3 songs from Magical Mystery Tour: Fool On The Hill, Baby You're A Rich Man, and I am The walrus . Clearly letting your knickers down was OK. Unusually, this 3rd issue was also the first to have a gatefold sleeve, the first and second issues did not.
