Beautiful copy of the original 1967 first US mono pressing of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band LP on Capitol MAS-2653. Complete copy with the cutout insert and the Fool-designed swirl inner sleeve. The disc is just beautiful and plays just about flawlessly and truly beautifully. There are some light superficial scuffs but they don’t affect the play at all. I have played the whole thing on three different systems and don’t hear even one tiny tick. As you all know out there the mono version is very different from the stereo version we all know so well, and it is really a pleasure to hear it on such a nice sounding original pressing. The marks on the disc make it VG+ but I would say it plays NM. The cover is also quite stunning, with only very mild shelfwear. No ringwear on the front, and just the faintest hint on the back. No bent corners or frayed edges, no stains or markings, and no seam splits. A little light aging and some signs of gentle use. The bottom of the spine has a tiny bit of a tear on the outer paper, barely. Just a beautiful original cover. The cutout sheet is the original on flimsier paper, rather than the stiffer cardboard of the 70s pressings. Really this is a top, beautiful copy, despite the light marks. A really wonderful sounding original.
