Original Owner RARE MONO Copy of Sgt. Pepper's: Here's my original copy of Sgt. Pepper's, that I bought back when it was brand new in 1967.  As noted (and shown in photos), this is a monaural copy of this famous album. It's Capitol # MAS-2653 (also listed on the record labels as MAS-X-1-2653 for the first side and MAS-X-2-2653 for the second side). The numbers are also in the record (runout area), adjacent to the label on each side. See photos for details.

This album has the misprint of the first pressing of Sgt. Pepper's.  The song actually titled "With a Little Help from my Friends" is incorrectly identified as "A Little Help from my Friends". This error occurs both on the record label itself and above the song lyrics printed on the back cover of the album.

Sound-wise, the monaural mix for Sgt. Pepper's is very different from the stereo version of the album.  There are quite a few differences, including a backwards guitar, "flanging" vocals, tone changes, extended laughter, and timing of the audiences, etc.
As noted, I'm the original owner of this album, and it's been in dry, indoor storage since new.  As with most of my records from this time, I played this one only two or three times, and then it was left at home while I was away at college.  Life intervened, and I never got back to being home again or playing this record afterward, so it's still in excellent condition. That's what I mean by "almost-unplayed" condition for the records - only the slightest wear.  The cover has light wear from storage, as shown in photos.  The inner "psychedelic" sleeve is in excellent condition paper-wise, but some yellowing from age (51 years, and counting...).  Hopefully you'll enjoy adding this copy of Sgt. Pepper's to your collection.
