THE BEATLES: Sgt Pepper's ORIGINAL 1st UK Pressing 1967 PMC 7027 MONO XEX 637-1
OK ... THIS IS NO ORDINARY SALE! It’s a piece of music history, and this one was one of those first off the press back in England, June 1, 1967!
So ... what do we have here? A well played, well respected first pressing of this ground-breaking album, in an Excellent/Plus sleeve with an Excellent Inner Sleeve and the Original Cardboard Cut-out Insert in mint condition - partly, because I didn’t know it was in there all these years!
Add to that a cutting from the UK’s Daily Express Newspaper dated May 19, 1967 announcing the Albums imminent release, speaking of the band and showing a graphic of who is features on the sleeve.
And just in case you would like some historic perspective to go … The reverse of that newspaper clipping shows most of an article announcing Russia’s warning to the USA that they were no longer prepared to watch any further escalation of the war in Vietnam ... ‘without taking a hand herself.’ (WOW!!) (See pictures below.)
Oh, and there’s a bit about a UK poll showing voters didn’t want to join the Common Market (now the EU) - The rest, as they say, is history!

12” Long Play in Original Gatefold Sleeve.
Record VERY GOOD++: Spindle marks. Mainly light, inaudible surface marks. Yes, there are the occasional pops or crackles - but none that interfere with the music - unless you include a few pops during that long, final run-out! Over all, still offers great sound quality! Sleeve EXCELLENT: Note: This is the first press sleeve with broad spine and exposed flaps to the top of the inner surface - see photo. Very little edge or spine wear. Opening edge a little rough from handling. All four corner show wear. Handling creases on surfaces. Over all a respectable example for its 48-year-long journey. Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT: Original pink/white ‘psychedelic' sleeve. Some light creases. No break-throughs. Vinyl now kept in new MoFi Master sleeve. Cut-Out Insert: MINT! - Nothing to add.

RECORD GRADING:
I adhere to the Record Collector's Grading System, which is ...
(M) MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
(EXC) EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
(VG) VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
(G) GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc.
(F) FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
(P) POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
(B) BAD: (maybe that should be SAD!) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
