Description

Hello there! Many thanks for perousing my items! When you've looked here, you might like to check out some of my other items, I have some other very rare Beatles etc. items currently listed with many more to come, heck, I'd even suggest you add me to your favourite sellers to keep on top of all the goodies that I'm going to list over the coming months!
I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers. I will only post completely insured and tracked.
This week I'm selling many Beatles/Kinks/Yardbirds Etc. 7" rarities. Here we have the 1964, 1st Black label copy of their first single, Love Me Do b/w P.S. I Love You, with upper and lower case perimeter text. This is the Ringo on drums, no tambourine version, only available on the early red parlophone copies, and the early black copies, the EP/LP/later issues have the Andy White version with Ringo on tambourine, in short, if you want to hear this version, you need to shell out for an early copy! The Red Parlophone copies, both with, and without the Great Britain text are rare and sought after, but I'd say the black copies are much rarer, due to the fact that people who hadn't previously been Beatles fans were now buying Beatles records in 1964, but only the die-hard fans were going back over their releases to catch up with the singles they didn't have, especially when most people just bought the EP with the first two singles on it (however as I covered above, they weren't actually getting the original exclusive single version of Love Me Do that way!).These are really very rare and very highly sought after!

RECORD CONDITION: A-side: VG, the B-side VG-, general dusting of light surafe marks and hairlines, but on the B-side there is a mark that is feelable when you run your nail across it, so it does produce some ticks. But still audio is strong, especially on the all important, no tambourine A-side!
RECORD LABELS: VG, no tears, or major abbrasions, but both sides have the previous owner's name very subtly written in dark biro-pen, "Leony" at 5 o'clock on the A-side, and "Leony Albrecht" at 5 o'clock on the B-side. It is very hard to capture in the photos, as you only see tem when angled into direct light. Other than that, nice! Some light spindle traces near the central spindle hole, but generally strong!
SLEEVE CONDITION: VG, A Generally handled, but nice copy of the sleeve of the time (the sleeve it came into my possession in), no rips/grafitti etc, all of the edges hold strongly, and don't have any wear-throughs. A bit of age yellowing, and general handling folding, but nothing major!

It appears that, as these plates were pressed just around the time that tax codes were going through changes, they put them all on in case of a fire! We have the MP, and the ZT tax codes in the dead wax, and the KT tax code embossed around the central spindle hole on the B-side!

Any further question please don't hesitate to ask! Thanks again, and why not check out my other items?! River.Dog
