FIRST ISSUE

A 1968 first UK pressing from the Beatles, who were prolific in the recording studio - and due to their retirement from touring and playing live, they concentrated on recording.
Many of these tracks were composed while they were on a retreat with the Maharishi, and in a period where they had to manage their own affairs after the sad death of Brian Epstein - and they had the task of launching the APPLE RECORDS lable too.
This album is often rated as their finest works.
The 4 more independently of each other, now they focused on these tracks without the influence or judgements of each other - which was a particular plus for George with his exceptional contributions.
Back at the studio with George Martin, they were always a phenomenon!
This FIRST UK pressing 'TOP-LOAD' MONO DOUBLE LP SET is special and an essential among The BEATLES releases.
It's said that John Lennon acclaimed this Mono mix as THE version to have, and there are definitely some differences that have been documented.
I VERY rarely see a Mono copy of this release, as by 1968, everyone wanted to compliment their Stereo equipment with Stereo lps.
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades VG / VG+
A decent sheen overall, a few surface scuffs.
There are a couple of needle trail marks, overall a reasonable and clear loud play with crackle noticeable on quieter parts.
Not a 'top copy', not for the 'Mint' record collector.
Labels are VG+ with no stains, stickers or pen.
NO lables state "An E.M.I. Recording", as on most Stereo pressings, all bear the 1st pressing legend "Sold in U.K..... " (etc.)
The solid FULLY LAMINATED GATEFOLD 'TOPLOADER' COVER is VG.
*N⁰. 0032147* (A fairly low number as most copies found are 6-figures)
Glossy sheen, light handling wear, a sticker removal has taken the small 'Mono' off the rear.
Still a solid, respectable example!
CUSTOM BLACK INNER SLEEVES are included plus POSTER and the THREE of the COLOUR PICTURES (Paul isn't dead, but his photo is missing!)
The discs will be sent in new white protective sleeves, separated from the covers.
