RARE MONO, VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS ALL ROUND IMPRESSIVE CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE VINYL LP SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL
Arguably one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple **FIRST ISSUE MONO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles White Album, simply entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This SUPERB Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS, the set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED 0019179 GATEFOLD Sleeve.
LP Description:
The TWO First Issue MONO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple records label, with ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale. **WITHOUT** an E.M.I. Recording label reference’ and with ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to all four record labels.
All four record labels are in superb Excellent condition, clean record labels, showing just a few faint centre spindle lines, the printed text to all of the record labels is unfaded.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix XEX 709-1 & Side 2: XEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 5 PR & Side 2 stampers are: 5 GDD.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: XEX 711-1 & Side 4: XEX 712-2.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 5 TL & Side 4 stampers: 1 GRR.
There is an embossed *KT* tax code on side 3 record label.
Both Vinyl LPs are in Excellent Minus to Excellent condition, nice clean undamaged vinyl surfaces, showing just light surface hairline scratches, there are no deep scratches or scuffs.
Both of the original black inner bags are in Good condition, both bags have creases and seam splits, one bag has a split completely down one edge.
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0019179, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The word The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing, the gatefold sleeve is in very nice Very Good Plus condition, a very nice firm and clean sleeve, showing a couple of corner bumps, and very mild age toning to the edges, the spine edge shows light age yellowing and rub marks, the inside of the gatefold is very clean and shows light age toning and foxing (spotting) to the centre.
There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle in Excellent condition, with no pinholes or tears.
And the ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, in Excellent Plus condition, an undamaged poster with mild creasing but no tearing.
Play Quality:
Having carefully played both LPs, all FOUR sides play well throughout, with some very mild background crackle, there are NO skips, a couple of very light clicks can be heard on side 4, otherwise a very nice clear Mono sound quality.
Not surprisingly, Beatles UK White album MONOS are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER, and this is respectable example. They are becoming increasingly difficult to find in COMPLETE condition, this one has a lowish number of 0019179
