RARE MONO, VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS ALL ROUND IMPRESSIVE CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE VINYL LP SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL
Arguably one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple **FIRST ISSUE MONO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, plus photograph spacer, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS, The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED GATEFOLD Sleeve.
LP Description:
The TWO First Issue MONO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, with ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale. ‘WITH AN E.M.I. Recording LABEL REFERECE’ and with ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to ALL four sides of the record labels.
All four record labels are in Near Mint condition, bright undamaged record labels, showing just a few very faint centre spindle lines, with NO hand writing or damage to the print.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix XEX 709-2 & Side 2: XEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: GRL & Side 2 stampers are: 5 GML.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: XEX 711-1 & Side 4: XEX 712-1.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 2 MA & Side 4 stampers: 5 MD.
The side 2 record label has the **KT tax code** embossed on the centre of the label.
The TWO 12” Vinyl LPs are in superb Excellent Plus condition, very clean and unworn well cared for vinyl surfaces, showing nothing more than a couple of light surface hairlines, and light signs of the records being removed from the abrasive black inner bags.
The vinyl LPs come in their original Black inner record bags, both bags are in very nice Excellent condition, with no seam splits or tears, just light creasing.
The LPs are housed in it’s original top opening, numbered, gatefold sleeve which is in superb Excellent Plus condition.
Clean white and glossy Front, Back and Inner Gatefold, an undamaged spine, with minor laminate flaking and a little age toning, the printed wording on the spine reads, ‘The Beatles, Stereo PCS 7067-8, Mono PMC 7067-8‘ and is clearly legible, the sleeve is extremely firm, strong and glossy, there is mild signs of record indication to the front and back.
The embossed wording ‘The BEATLES’ and the printed number of 0161082 are very clear.The inside of the Gatefold sleeve is in perfect condition. The opening edges are firm and flat. All that is visible are very small corner bumps.
There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, the photographs are in Excellent Plus condition, with no pin holes to all corners, and also incudes the original paper photograph spacer.
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, also in Excellent Plus condition, a fine undamaged poster with no tearing or pin holes, just mild creasing.
Play Quality:
Having carefully played both LPs, all FOUR sides play with superb sound quality throughout, no skips or clicks, a very clear mono sound quality.
Not surprisingly, Beatles UK White albums in mono format are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER, and this is a superb example. They are becoming INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND in ORIGINAL, and COMPLETE condition.
