RARE MONO, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE VINYL LP SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL
Arguably one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple **FIRST ISSUE MONO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, plus photograph spacer, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS, The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED GATEFOLD Sleeve.
The TWO First Issue MONO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, with ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale. ‘WITH AN E.M.I. Recording LABEL REFERECE’on record labels side 3 & 4 only, and with ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to all four sides of the record labels.
All four record labels are in Excellent Plus condition, showing some light centre spindle lines, with no hand writing or damage to the print.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix XEX 709-1 & Side 2: XEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 4 MM & Side 2 stampers are: 7 PO.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: XEX 711-1 & Side 4: XEX 712-2.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 1 O & Side 4 stampers: 2 GMG.
There are no visible **KT tax codes** on the centre of the labels.
Both Vinyl LPs are in Excellent condition, bright undamaged vinyl surfaces, showing just a few light surface hairlines, there are no deep scratches or scuffs visible, both LPs come in their original black inner bags.
Both inner bags are in very respectable Excellent condition, one of the inner bags has a small tear to the die-cut centre, both bags show light creasing.
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0241589, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing, the gatefold sleeve is in Excellent condition, this is a firm clean and white sleeve showing very little age toning, with light corner bumps, the spine edge has no laminate flaking, and the wording is clear. The inside gatefold part, and the reverse of the sleeve are in undamaged, clean and white condition.
There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, and an original photograph spacer, the photographs and spacer are in Excellent condition with no pin holes, or tears, the reverse of each photograph show sellotape residue, the photographs were originally displayed in a frame, the front of each photograph are undamaged.
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, also in Excellent condition, with no pin holes or tears, just light age toning, and mild creases.
Play Quality:
Having carefully played both LPs, all FOUR sides play well throughout, with some mild background crackle, there are NO skips, a very nice CLEAR Mono sound.
Not surprisingly, Beatles UK White album mono’s are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER, and this is a very respectable example. They are becoming INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND in ORIGINAL, and COMPLETE condition.
