NOVEMBER 1968 PRESSING 

The Sleeve: 

Top loading sleeve in Very Good Plus condition, fully tightly laminated over front, rear panel, fold-over's and inside the gatefold including centre fold line. A little almost invisible shelf wear on the opening, some thumbnail creases but very few, mainly on rear panel, with small corner scuffs. All text is legible and pictorials clear and glossy and have held original colour well, the sleeve is very clean and glossy like it should be. Inside the gatefold and fold-over's are Excellent, looking glossy and very clean with clear print and unblemished black & white square pictorials of each band member, and there're no marks or blemishes. The BEATLES logo on the front is embossed and raised as it was on all first issue sleeves, and the number is in the 7 digit format also embossed and raised.  

The sleeve is firm and flat and intact, including the inner partition, separating the parts and keeping all held in well. The laminate along the spine is mainly intact along its length, and still looks neat, this is the wider spine variation.

No handwriting, no handwriting imprints and no sticker or sticker residue anywhere.

Inner Sleeves:

Very Good condition. The 1st pressings of the White Album came with plain black inner sleeves with the label window on one side only, and one bottom edge corner having a slightly wider slant than the opposite bottom corner. These inner sleeves rarely survive well and are usually missing or have ripped windows, and a lot of general fraying, the windows on these are not ripped at all. They have some record ring wear and light insertion creases.

Poster:

Very Good Plus Condition. No blemishes, and no tears or rips, and has survived extremely well, some deep creases on something fold lines.

The Four Portrait Photographs:

Excellent Condition, no corner creases, and hardly ever removed from the sleeve, one two extremely light marks.

The Vinyl:

The vinyl surfaces range are in Very Good Condition overall, some sides appear to be in better condition than others, Sides 2 and 3 more like Very Good Plus. All have a thoroughly playable surface. The surfaces on both of the discs still reflect a glossy sheen with no dulling areas. Turned angled towards light there are hairline marks and cleaning trails visible over the surface areas on some more than others, there are several broad hairline on Side 4 but are purely surface lines, not feelable, and don't adversely affect the audio. 

No scuffs or warps on any side of each disc, have survived well. No signs of groove wear and the surfaces are smooth. The records look to be in a well over average condition for a numbered Mono pressing, with evidence of having received a fair amount of plays commensurate with age and popularity, and are respectable with nothing worrying about them.

The records lay completely flat on the turntable.

Robust Sixties vinyl's weighing at around 160 grams.

Labels:

All text is clear and bold and background colour is all bright. There are some noticeable spindle line traces on each but hardly any wear to the perimeter of the spindle location area, very neat on all labels on this copy. All sit perfectly on the spindle point on the turntable.

The Audio:

The audio grades at Very Good Plus to Excellent on both sides from start to finish, with no pops, no background noises such as crackle or hiss, and there are no skips/jumps or sticks. There are some static type ticks which can be heard on some preceding intro lead-in's and succeeding fade-out's in the dead-wax, and songs are clear of any interuptions, a few songs have ticks that can be heard over the audio now and again, only really on Sides 1 & 4.

On the majority the records play very nicely with top audio, no major interference and offering a crisp and strong original mono bass rendition of which many critics regard as The Beatles finest masterpiece.

The vinyl sides 1, 2, 3 and 4 are all from the very first mono master recording and none are from the second master recording. The mother stamps are quite low for corresponding with the 2nd label pressing containg the 'An E.M.I. Recording' text - considering some of these 1st and 2nd mono pressings went into double digits. The 'An EMI Recording' text was added to the label from late November 1968, the month in which pressing began for the White Album.

The number on the sleeve is also fairly lower than most that are coming up for sale - it is well known that numbers 0000001-0600000 were used for 1st and 2nd mono and stereo pressings of the White Album. The Apple whites on the labels are the DARKER type. These factors indicate that this is undoubtably a 1st MONO Master Pressed with 2nd label variation pressed in or around late November/ early December of 1968.

This LP will be securely delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stifferners. 

New plain black generic poly-lined inner sleeves will house the records as shown, and the originals will be placed separately.

A new protective PVC 180 gsm gatefold sleeve is included as shown to house the LP.

This White Album will be delivered by special delivery in the UK.

Overseas postage will be tracked & insured and a tracking number given.
