Background

The Beatles tenth official album release, their FIRST double, and their FIRST on Apple.
Officially simply called "The Beatles", but quickly became known as "The White Album" due to it's packaging.
Another 'first' for this release is that it contains purely solo material. For example, "Julia" was a solo Lennon recording - his first ever.
Once again The Beatles went straight to number 1 and stayed for 7 weeks in a row. It sold so many, it also made the singles chart, the ONLY double album to ever enter that chart.

Condition:

Vinyl /Visual Grading: Very Good – Hairlines and surface marks to all sides, with a feelable scratch on Side 2.

Label: This is a first press of this album. Dark Green Apple labels with “Sold in the UK”  text to all sides.

Label Grading:  Disc 1: Very Good+ – Some light spindle wear. Two very small scuffs to Side 1 with a residue mark. Disc 2: Excellent – Just some spindle wear.

Cover:  Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover with external flipbacks on the inside of gatefold and top opening.

Cover Grading: Very Good+ – Some creases with storage wear to corners and a little furring to opening edge. Spine is fully readable but there is some laminate cracking along it.. The inside gatefold has some handling marks, flipbacks intact. The stamped Name and number to the front are clean and readable.  

Inner Sleeve: The original black inners. One is Good+ - Creases and tearing to opening edge and centre hole. Splits to all sides. The other is Excellent – Just some creases and a little wear to centre hole.

Photos: Excellent – All four with very minor corner wear. A light crease to top right on George’s photo.

Poster: Very Good – Tape to all central creases and some storage wear and age discolouration.

Overall a nice first press copy!

I have been a Beatles fan since the day I sat down in 1973 to listen to the ‘Blue Album’. As a young lad this was the first time I had consciously listened to the band. From the first few bars of Strawberry Fields Forever, I was hooked. So it is with a very heavy heart that I now have to sell my vinyl collection!  I have been selling a number of items recently but now need to let the vinyl go. I am not a dealer, so please accept my gradings as being as honest as I can make them without a professional background or equipment. Unless stated the gradings are visual, as I just don’t have the time to play grade everything.

As with all my vinyl, it would benefit from a professional clean.

Records will be removed from their original sleeve and dispatched in a plain white sleeve. All items will be placed in a protective clear sleeve and dispatched in a card mailer.

I always obtain a proof of posting from Post Office.

To ensure all items are traceable when sending overseas, I will only use Royal Mail’s International Tracked service. This may make my postage charges a little higher than some other sellers but it provides peace of mind to myself and the buyer.
