RARE MONO, VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS ALL ROUND IMPRESSIVE CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE VINYL LP SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL
Arguably one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple **FIRST ISSUE MONO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles White Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two Matt Black Inner Bags, The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED GATEFOLD Sleeve.
LP Description:
The TWO First Issue MONO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, with ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale. **Without** an E.M.I. Recording, and with ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to all four record labels.
All four record labels are in Excellent Plus condition, clean record labels with clear undamaged printed text, showing just a few light centre spinde lines, with NO hand writing or damage to the print.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix XEX 709-1 & Side 2: XEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 3TH & Side 2 stampers are: 3 GDG.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: XEX 711-3 & Side 4: XEX 712-1.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 2 RL & Side 4 stampers: 4 TO.
Side 3 record label has the rare **KJT** tax code embossed on the centre of the label, **the letter J is visible just above the Northern Songs wording in the scan below**.
The TWO 12” Vinyl LPs are in Excellent to Excellent Plus condition, clean bright glossy vinyl showing just light surface hairlines, these visible hairlines do not effect the play quality, there are no deep scratches or scuffs to any of the vinyl surfaces.
One of the original black inner bags has light creases but no seam splits, the other has light creases and a tear to the centre die cut, but no seam splits.
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0043179, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The Beatles’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing, the gatefold sleeve is in Excellent Minus to Excellent condition, this is a firm clean undamaged sleeve showing light age toning (yellowing) mostly around the edges,and a couple of hardly noticeable laminate scratches on the front panel just above the number, there are mild bumps to all four corners, but no splits to any of the edges, the spine edge of the sleeve shows age toning, all the printed text is legible. The inside of the gatefold part of the sleeve is in Excellent condition.
There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, the photographs are in Excellent Plus condition with no pin holes, tearing or any other damage.
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, also in Excellent Plus condition, with no tearing or any other damage, just light signs of copy paper imprint handwriting (see scan)
Play Quality:
Having carefully played both LPs, all FOUR sides play very well throughout with great sound quality, hardly any background crackle, no skips or clicks. A superb Mono sound quality.
Not surprisingly, Beatles UK White album MONOS are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER, and this is one of the better examples. They are becoming INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND in ORIGINAL, and COMPLETE condition.
