Description
Hello and welcome to this auction for a 'Beatles - 'White Album' 12" 1968 Apple TOP OPENING LOW NUMBERED first press LP vinyl' in overall VERY GOOD+ condition.
This record includes the original discs, black die-cut inner sleeves, poster and photos! It is considered a low number (0089908) and has 'The BEATLES' embossed on the front with a stamped number.
VINYL:-
Visual:
- Side 1 - quite a few non-feelable scratches, marks and hairlines. They're not deep and are not feelable. Rated as VERY GOOD-. Label is VERY GOOD+.
- Side 2 - fewer scratches than Side 1 but still has quite a few long hairlines that are non-feelable. Rated as VERY GOOD. Label is VERY GOOD+.
- Side 3 - lots of hairlines, light marks and scratches but again, nothing feelable or deep! Rated as VERY GOOD-. Label is VERY GOOD+.
- Side 4 - a few more scratches and hairlines than Side 3, but nothing feelable! Rated as VERY GOOD- (just!). Label is VERY GOOD+.
Audio:
- Audio is currently rated as VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD+!!! There is one tiny skip on Revolution 1 about half way through but apart from this, it plays and sounds great! There is some light background crackle that can be heard in the quieter passages and in-between tracks. This isn't overbearing, it never gets in the way and I personally thoroughly enjoyed the entirety of this album. The audio is very punchy, has a lovely rich bass tone and I think that this particular stereo mix of 'The BEATLES' can't be beaten! Lies very flat and plays very well!
The black die-cut inner sleeves are in EXCELLENT+ condition. Stunning condition black die-cut inner sleeves!! They do have the rounded corners but may be reproduction...I can't tell! If you require any more pictures then please do not hesitate to ask.
The four portrait photos of The Beatles are in EXCELLENT+ condition. They're very clean and there isn't much I can fault with them! They're made from nice quality card and have a nice gloss to them. Again, I'm unsure if these are repro or from a later issue but they are card and look great, in fantastic condition!
The poster is in EXCELLENT condition!! No seam splits, tears, rips, pin holes, tape residue etc. There is some slight rubbing on some of the folds but it's nothing major! Made from a nice quality and looks great!
The sleeve is 100% intact and rated as VERY GOOD!! There is the obvious discolouration that happens to most of these 47-year-old White Albums but it still looks great! NO GRAFFITI, NO WRITING, NO RIPS, NO TEARS, NO MAJOR DAMAGE!! The embossed 'The BEATLES' is fully readable, as is the stamped number on the front. The front of the sleeve has some creases and slight ringwear. The rear of the sleeve has some laminating creasing, general creases and some light ringwear. There is also a slight laminate rip(?) near the top left of the rear sleeve...hard to notice really. The inner gatefold is nice and clean and everything is readable and looking good! Flipbacks are slightly stained but are fully intact. The spine is readable but it does have some creasing and staining. PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!!!
