The Beatles White Album Vinyl LP First Pressing UK Mono 1968 ALL -1 -1 -1 -1 MATRIX NUMBERS
* according to the mother stamp on side 1 - pressed in NOVEMBER 1968
Here is your chance to own an original UK vinyl mono copy of the Beatles " White Album " . For most of the Beatles career mono was the standard and the stereo mix was something that was done as an afterthought. The band ( and the producers and engineers ) worked to get the mono mix just perfect and they would throw together the stereo mix rather quickly , sometimes in a very experimental fashion ( as stereo was still very new ) But by 1968 mono was getting phased out and the White Album was their final album released in mono.
*** most notable difference between MONO & STEREO - Clapton's guitar Gently Weeps also : The bird sound effects in Blackbird Airplane sound in Back in the USSR Mono version much faster in Don't pass me by Paul's " Oh yeah" in mono only in Glass onion Mono version more compressed and distorted ( sounds better ! ) in Revolution 1 .... ETC
Cover in VG+ condition ( some imperfections )
No. 0066871
INCLUDED : Poster , photos , original inners + Poly lined inners/outers
Side 1 is VG- condition with a few light scratch marks going across the record but it does not affect playback , those are non-feelable scratches.
Still maintains original gloss on all sides
Side 2/3/4 are in VG+ condition.
Overall a great listen, fully play tested. No skips, pops. No overwhelming crackling like on some other copies we've come across ... Even Revolution #9 sounds crispy !!
