Considered to be one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple ** FIRST ISSUE STEREO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE STEREO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL **NEAR MINT** Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle, and an ORIGINAL **NEAR MINT** Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse , Two ORIGINAL**VERY GOOD** MATT BLACK INNER BAGS. The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED GATEFOLD Sleeve, NUMBERED 0324336
LP Description/Condition:
The TWO First Issue STEREO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, all bearing the ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale, ‘An E.M.I. Recording’ (on side 3 & 4 only) and ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to ALL four sides of the record labels. All four labels are printed ‘Stereo’.
All four record labels in very nice Excellent Plus condition, LOVELY CLEAN, UNDAMAGED record labels, VIVID Black Print, showing only a few centre spindle lines.
Both vinyl Discs are also in superb Excellent condition, bright glossy vinyl sufaces, with only light superficial hairlines, there are NO scuffs, or deep scratches.
The side 1 matrix YEX 709-1 and Side 2: YEX 710-1.
The side 3 matrix YEX 711-1 and Side 4: YEX 712-2.
Side 1 stampers: 1 PG and Side 2: 1 OT.
Side 3 stampers: 1 GDP and Side 4: 1 OL.
There are no embossed ‘KT’ tax/price codes visible on any of the record labels.
The TWO 12” Vinyl LPs come in their ORIGINAL Matt Black Die Cut Inner Bags which are in Very Good condition, one bag has a small seam split and small tears to the die-cut centre, and just some light creasing.
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0324336, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing. The top right hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve is printed ‘Stereo’.
The Original Fully Laminated Gatefold sleeve is in very nice Excellent Plus condition. This is a BRIGHT WHITE, FIRM, and GLOSSY sleeve throughout, there are NO seam splits, very little age dicolouration,just a little discolouration to the edges, and just light record impression, there are very mild bumps to two of the corners,the spine edge print is clearly legible, and the Stereo wording on the reverse is clear, overall this is a very clean and impressive Beatles White album sleeve.
< There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle,- all four photographs are all in UNDAMAGED Near Mint condition, NO pin holes to any of the corners, no creasing or tearing.
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse which is in SUPERB Near Mint condition, not even a seam split to any of the folds!
Play Quality:
Having played both LPs, all FOUR sides play with superb Stereo sound quality, there are NO skips, or distortion, just light background crackle, there are no skips to any of the tracks.
In our Professional opinion, interest in ORIGINAL, COMPLETE examples of this ICONIC Beatles UK WHITE ALBUM release will continue to RISE, thereby increasing the longer term INVESTMENT POTENTIAL. Impressive examples are becoming VERY HARDER TO FIND now, they have never been easy to find anyway, - Many have been purchased by Serious Beatles collectors, RARELY to appear on the open market again.
