Hi, my name is Nick (aka cornerstonevinyl). I have been an avid record collector for many years, building up an extensive collection of mostly blues/rock, psych, progressive and classic rock 1st issue albums from the mid sixties to early seventies period. I have decided to sell off a few choice albums in either the Fixed Price or Auction formats. These offerings represent the crème de la crème of my 35 years of record collecting and are of the highest quality. My grading is strict and any significant defects will be mentioned. You can rest assured that a record that I grade as MINT- will be both visually and aurally as fine a copy as you are ever likely to find (hopefully my feedback and 4.9/5.0 "item as described" rating will bear this out). My descriptions are concise and in accordance with the GRADINGS detailed below. I will not bore you with the unnecessary duplication of song lyrics, and self-respect will not allow the use of ridiculous words like "awesome, mega, hyper", etc., or endless exclamation marks. Customer satisfaction is of the highest importance to me. In the unlikely event that you are not entirely happy with an LP bought from me for any reason, I will refund you in full upon return without any hassle.

From my own personal collection I am pleased to offer a lovely copy of the iconic studio double album by THE BEATLES simply titled “THE BEATLES”, otherwise known as “THE WHITE ALBUM”, Catalogue Number PMC 6067/8. This is a 1968 UK MONO 1st PRESSING on the APPLE RECORD LABEL, with a TOP-OPENING GARROD & LOFTHOUSE LAMINATED SLEEVE which is numbered 106521. Complete with the original black inners, fold-out poster, 4 colour prints and the elusive protective spacer.

The matrix numbers and stampers are:

The K/T tax code is embossed either side of the spindle hole on Side 2. The dark green Apple labels have "Sold in U.K..." text.

The sleeve is in VG+ condition with just light wear and a few minor creases. The front and back covers and opening gatefold spread are unmarked. The internal flipbacks are in excellent shape and fully intact. The spine is square and solid with all text clearly legible. There are no splits, tears, writing or any other significant faults.     

The top quality Apple records are in VG+ condition. They are solid 140g pressings which retain much of their original shine and rotate evenly on the turntable. All 4 sides display only a few light sleeve-removal/rub type surface marks under bright light. These are only superficial and do not cause any significant audio problems whatsoever. The Apple record labels are unmarked with only a moderate number of spindle traces each side. There is minimal wear to either spindle hole. The records play to a very high standard with barely any deterioration in sound quality and only very low levels of unwanted noise (just a touch of light surface sound which is only noticeable during some of the quieter passages and does not interfere with the enjoyment of the music). The mono playback is particularly loud-cut and vibrant and the sound quality is outstanding with wonderful bass tones.  

The 4 colour prints are in EX condition with only a few minor creases. They are made out of thick card and have a glossy finish.

The protective spacer sheet, which is so often missing, is included. This has no rips or tears – just a few light creases.

The die-cut black inner sleeves are both present and correct. One has a short split to one side edge and the other some repaired tears to the centre cut-out.

The fold-out poster has some wear to the folds, a few creases and some numbers written in biro in one corner. It is, however, the original 1st issue.    

Overall this is a complete “week of release” mono copy of arguably The Beatles’ most iconic studio album which plays to a very high standard throughout.

GRADINGS

The records that I offer for sale have been critically play-graded, at loud volume, on a Rega P5 turntable fitted with an Elys 2 cartridge. I will only sell records that play to a high standard. My gradings are strict and in accordance with the following descriptions:

·         MINT- Record is superb, almost like new, with just a few sleeve removal type surface marks and no deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve is near perfect in all respects.

·         EX Record is a top quality example, with just a few very light surface marks which do not sound, and barely any discernable deterioration in sound quality. Sleeve has slight wear and/or creasing.

·         VG Record has some visual surface marks, but still plays to a high standard without any major deterioration in sound quality – just a few clicks or light surface sound in places. Sleeve has normal wear and tear without any major defects but is still very presentable.

PACKAGING         

LPs are packaged with care and well protected to ensure that they arrive safely in the same condition as they leave me. Records are removed from both inner and outer sleeves in order to prevent seam-splits in transit.
