A few notes on shipping LPs 

I have received LPs in the mail over the years which suffered from various ailments after being shipped in too many different weird ways for me to list… 

Well, ok, I guess I’ll give a few examples…

I’ve received LPs in pizza boxes wrapped in newspaper, in large paper envelopes with duct tape, in old musty crushed boxes, in a plain folded paper bag completely sealed with what looked to be an entire roll of masking tape and..… oh...… then some guy shipped me a bunch of LPs in a large disposable diaper box with about 100 plastic grocery bags! The LPs could be found here and there among the nevertheless interesting collection of bags!

So how will I ship your LP? 

1. The vinyl record will be removed from the cover and the original inner sleeve and placed in a brand new acid-free inner white sleeve to prevent damage.

2. The entire 'package' will then be  placed in a brand new, acid-free thick poly sleeve.

3. The LP will then be secured in a brand new sturdy LP mailer.

Record Grading:

Mint (M): New condition.

Near Mint (NM): Nearly perfect, a record with no obvious signs of wear, a perfect sleeve with no more than the most minor defects and signs of slight handling.

Very Good Plus (VG+): A very good plus record will show signs that it was played, but was taken good care of by the previous owner. Record surface may show slight signs of wear or minor scuffs that do not affect play. Picture sleeves may have slight wear, lightly turned up corners.

Very Good (VG): A very good record will show groove wear and may have a few vinyl imperfections which will affect the sound. Picture sleeves will show slightly more wear with perhaps a frayed top edge, ring wear or seam breakdown.

Good (G) / Good Plus (G+): A good record will show significant wear and /or scratches, but will play through without skipping. It will have considerable surface noise. Picture sleeves may have seam splits @ bottom & spines, tape, writing, ring wear, stickers and other defects that will start to overwhelm the item. A good or good plus item is usually acquired to fill a hole in a collection until a better copy comes along.
