Description

Records are visually graded, but I do listen to intros for crackle and clarity, and play through any marks. Please read the entire listing to avoid any misunderstanding.

THE BEATLES – WITH THE BEATLES – 1st PRESSING – MONO – JOBETE – ZT TAX CODE – VG/G

Rare 1st pressing. Not a perfect copy, quite a few surface lines, but nothing particularly deep. It still has a good shine and it plays through without sticks or jumps (see below for more details).

Identifiers:
Matrices: XEX 447-1N and XEX 448-1N
Labels have “THE PARLOPHONE CO LTD etc” rim text and “RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963” above the side number.

Side 2 Track 3 has “Gotta” instead of “Got a” on both label and sleeve.
Side 2 Track 7 “Money” publishing credit is “Jobete Mus. NCB” not “Dominion”
Side 1 label has ZT purchase tax code embossing on either side of the spindle hole.

Played through before listing it and sound quality is good. Very light crackle during run-ins and gaps between tracks, which returns very occasionally, but never dominates. Sound quality is overall good.

Comes in poly-lined “Use Emitex” inner sleeve. Each side has a small tear around the centre hole, but still good to have the original one.

The sleeve is discoloured and quite dirty, particularly on the back. Triple flip backs and the Garrod & Lofthouse credit has “patents pending” where later copies list the patent number.
