With The Beatles (5N/5N)

The audio on this second mono pressing plays extremely well with no clicks or pops whatsoever.  The cover has some faint age related marking but no writing!

Mono 5N/5N second pressing on Yellow/Black label.  'The Parlophone Co. Ltd' etc printed around the perimeter edge.  'Recording first published 1963' and correct 'Dominion Belinda' credit for 'Money' on label.

Large 'Mono' on front of G&L cover and correct 'You Really Got A Hold On Me' credit on both the cover and S2 label.

The audio on S1 is Ex (Ex+ in many sections) 

The audio on S2 is Ex+

 Visual grading

  There are some faint hairlines on this vinyl but not a high amount and it is definitely cleaner than so many other early pressings I have seen.  The audio is still of an excellent standard as detailed below and there are no deep scratches at all.  The run out grooves are very clean and overall this vinyl has been very well looked after down the years.

Play grading

'It Won't Be Long' starts S1 with superb audio and no interference.  The sound quality is of an excellent standard throughout and there are no clicks, pops or jumps.  There is some light background static in the quieter passages but that is the only negative really.  No clicks or pops on a 54 year old record is quite something!  'Till There Was You' is obviously the quietest track on S1 and the 'background' in my opinion does not intrude on what remains an excellent listen.  'Please Mister Postman' has some distortion but no other interference.  

'Roll Over Beethoven' on S2 plays with superb clarity and for a relatively loud track there is no distortion.  It really displays great range and depth and is a wonderful version.  This quality is evident on the rest of the tracks and once more there are no clicks or pops anywhere.  There is only a touch of very light static in a handful of sections, hardly audible though as there are very few quiet sections on this side.  There is certainly no crackle.  Some distortion on 'Money' again but a great end to the album nonetheless with no other 'background'.

Cover

This G & L laminated cover has stood the test of time very well overall.  The edges and spine are very clean with only a small number of rub marks and the laminate on the front cover has no lifting or splits just a few small creases.  There is some minor corner wear and some light handling wear on the opening edge also.  There is one tiny tear on the opening edge half way up but I stress it is very small indeed.  So many of these 60s covers had names etc written on but this has nothing on the back cover.  There is some faint age related marking which is more prevalent near the opening edge but the flipbacks are very clean with none of the obvious staining that you so often see.

Inner sleeve

The original Emitex polylined inner has no splits to any of the sides and only a little wear on the top edge.  There is also some creasing to be seen.

The labels

The yellow/black Parlophone labels have no marking or writing, only some spindle wear.  They are very clean.  There is no KT tax code stamp on this copy.

I grade according to "Record Collector" guidelines.
