On offer here is a very rare and unique LP from THE BEATLES called ‘WITH THE BEATLES’. An amazingly vibrant record and also the Beatles second official LP release. Two weeks BEFORE release, "With the Beatles" had advance orders of 270,000, and before the first week of release was out, the half-a-million figure had been beaten. They were actually awarded a Silver disc (for sales of 250,000) on November 18th 1963, 4 days BEFORE release!
By mid January 1964 885,000 had been sold in the U.K. and by the end of 1964, the total was 980,000. The ONE MILLION mark arrived by September 1965, making this album the FIRST EVER British album to sell 1,000,000 copies in the U.K.

However this record is even more special because it is a UK 1st Press and these are becoming incredibly rare these days, especially in sublime condition like this one. This UK version is how the BEATLES intended it and was never released in America and now no longer available! How rare is that! You simply won’t find another one anywhere else as they were only produced for a limited time in small numbers, they are so incredibly rare!

The record has hardly ever been played and subsequently has that new look to it. There are a few tinny light surface marks as on all old LPs but these certainly don’t effect playing; these records are built to last! The record is pressed on thick quality black vinyl; this is a good example! This has been well looked after. The sleeve is still in good condition with no scratches or dents and has only slight minor buffering marks on the edges like any old LP. There is however a small 1" long cut on the bottom right corner of the sleeve inwards along the bottom, barely noticeable, and hardly subtracts from such a rarity. This in a fantastic ultra rare piece of rock and roll memorabilia in stunning condition!!! The back is faultless for its age. The inner white paper sleeve is the EMITEX original, however it is slightly crumpled has split slightly on two edges, hardly a crime for its age and still has the inner cellophane dust guard! Record collector grading A, you wont be disappointed in the records miraculous condition, it really is ‘NEAR NEW’.

Anyone who has only previously heard these awesome tunes on CD is in for a real treat, as the vinyl version has so much more vibrant sound and richness that they lost in the digital conversion. You really can notice subtle differences in all the songs, it’s just incredible. This is how the BEATLES truly intended it! It really is a great looking LP and it’s truly impossible to find any copies of a first press, let alone one in such awesome condition! Just look at this astounding RARE BEATLES LP!!!!

(Note though, that it was NOT the first to sell one million in the U.K., one other album achieved this feat in November 1963 when the American soundtrack album "South Pacific" after six years on release made it. The Beatles did it in less than two !)
The American version of this album, Meet The Beatles bizarrely left off five of the tracks, but sold over 5 million copies. This makes combined sales for The Beatles second album of over 6.5 million.

Chartwise, this L.P. replaced "Please Please Me" at the number one slot, and remained there for 21 weeks. This gave The Beatles a continuous run of 51 weeks at the summit !
Also, in these early days of the British charts, ALL product was listed together regardless of format, and therefore this L.P. even made it into the U.K. singles chart, reaching number 11, which was a record placing for an album.

The cover was a very artful half-shadow black-and-white shot of The Beatles taken by Robert Freeman.
