THE BEATLES - Walls Ice Cream EP, original 1969 UK first issue, promo.

CT.1 - 45 rpm, original 1969 UK Apple, Walls Ice Cream promo EP, featuring four ‘Apple’ artists, knock out centre, original mono recordings.

This record was only made available in the UK and by mail order only. The EP contained four new, up and coming ‘acts’ that had signed to the Beatles Apple record label, featuring:

1. Storm in a teacup - The Iveys,
2. Some things wrong - James Taylor,
3. Little yellow pill - Jackie Lomax,
4. Pebble and the man - Mary Hopkin.

Additional features are:

1. the sleeve has an official looking ‘EMI’ stamp, in black ink on one side of the sleeve,

2. UK first issue matrix of: ‘2’,

3. original UK mono recordings,

4. as this is a UK first issue, side one of the record label features a ‘dark green’ Apple colour,

5. each of the record labels have the text, ‘Sold in UK’ etc.

CONDITION:

THE SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, it is made of thick quality card and has a ‘die cut hole’ each side. There is a hand written note on one side that reads, ‘Walls ice cream (EP) promo’ and an official looking ‘EMI’ stamp in black ink. There are NO splits, tears, stains, stickers, sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE RECORD: is in very good condition.

The matrix are:

Side one: CT 1 A – 2,

Side one: CT 1 B – 2,

The mother/stampers are:

Side one: ‘1 M’ and the letters ‘KT’ are also engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove,

Side two: ‘1 H’ and the letters ‘KT’ are also engraved onto the ‘run off’ groove.

THE AUDIO: is very good, each side plays with some ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The EP plays with a loud full, period mono sound.

THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition. I cannot see any spindle trails on the label. As this is a first UK issue the label on side one features a dark green Apple colour. There is evidence that a possible sticker has been removed. The label on side two is in excellent+ condition and again I can see no spindle trails on the label. Side two appears to have a textured surface. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
