Description

After 35 years of collecting I am now beginning that process of downsizing my music collection. I will be selling off my 4,000 record albums, 2,000 compact discs (w/many box sets, hundreds of 45 rpm’s (including Beatles and others, picture sleeves), cassettes and concert posters. In this particular auction I will be selling off many PICTURE SLEEVES 45’S many of which are IMPORTS and some US. A vast majority is from a Rotterdam radio station and have sticker on the cover for their categorization system. If you’re looking for something in any of these categories, feel free to check with me and I’ll go ahead and list it (that is if I have it).

Here is an item that is extremely hard to find (HTF) forty-years after it was released. This “should” be a sought after item for both Beatles collectors and for Picture Sleeve (PS) collectors:

DESCRIPTION/CONDITION

Artist:                        “Beatles”

Title:                                   “We can work it out/Day Tripper”

Format:                      45 (Picture Sleeve)

Label:                         Capital (Orange & Yellow swirl

Import:                       NO

Release:                     1965

Condition Vinyl:       Very Good (when I say VG, that means that it is not one of the pretty ones, as far as marks. to look aqt. Now, on the other hand it plays just wonderful with NO noise. (not sure I understand how that situation works out like that). In this case, the record is the smaller value of the deal as the picture sleeve is the item with the vast majority of the value.

Condition Jacket:   Very Good ++ to NEAR MINT (something written on the back, maybe a name, although it is unreadable as the ball point pen was so narrow and the ink has faded so much, it's a hard one to really notice.

Special feature:    Scarce HTF Picture Sleeve.

Value: Goldmine books this combination @ $70 (Near Mint condition) which was broken down to $45 picture sleeve and $25 for the vinyl.

Once again the Beatles give up TWO Billboard chart hits on one forty-five which seems the case for everyone that they released. I can’t see any artists doing that in the future.

In a discussion about what song to release as a single, Lennon argued "vociferously" for "Day Tripper", differing with the majority view that "We Can Work It Out" was a more commercial song. As a result, the single was marketed as the first "double A-side," but airplay and point-of-sale requests soon proved "We Can Work It Out" to be more popular, and it reached No. 1 on both sides of the Atlantic, the Beatles' fastest-selling single since "Can't Buy Me Love," their previous McCartney-led A-side in the UK. *

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:

My goal is to attain high customer satisfaction which will be achieved by selling products that are in at least NEAR MINT/VERY GOOD+ condition, along with using reasonable shipping costs. I won’t charge handling fees like some seller, but I will combine multiple wins to ensure that you get the optimal shipping cost. IF after you received your item and you have a problem PLEASE let me solve so that we can avoid possible unwarranted negative feedback. My only negative is from Member “dfwgent” and I never even shipped him an item (he was spiteful).

GRADING GUIDLINES

I do not use any “modified” versions of grading. I use true tried and tested Goldmine grading system. There is no need to confuse buyers therefore I use the grading scale that has been successful for thirty years. Unless otherwise stated, our products are VISUALLY graded with the aid of a bright 150W light bulb. I grade VERY conservatively, in order to ensure that buyers are happy. All flaws worth noting to potential buyers (scratches, MINOR warps, cut out holes, saw marks, split cover seams, writing, etc.) will be listed in the item descriptions in an attempt to avoid any, and all, surprises. Keep in mind, or be aware, that many import picture sleeve 45’s had jackets that were different than the U.S. releases as they look like a jacket but do not have three sides glued together.

·       M   (Mint); Unopened record or compact disc.

·       NM (Near Mint); Vinyl that appears to have never been played. There are simply NO visible blemishes on the vinyl/disc or jacket/case

·       VG++: Occasionally I will use this one if the item is NM, but I don’t feel comfortable grading it that way as there might be A small blemish on it.

·       VG+ (or EX); Except for a few minor things, this would be Near Mint. This will show slight light signs of wear including light signs of scuff or scratches that DO NOT affect the listening experience. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than ONE inch long)

·       VG:  More marks/scratches only minor, nothing deep, no loud clicks or pops. This type of material will not be sold by this seller. Groove wear and light scratches are evident. Surface noise is heard but it is not overwhelming. Minor writing, tape or stickers are visible.
