This is the rare UK 1st press of the 'White Album' by The Beatles. This press has the top opening sleeve. With dark green Apple labels which have NO E.M.I. logo. But with 'Mfd In U.K.' and Sold In U.K. text on all 4 labels. It has it's black inner sleeves, four photograph A4 posters, but no large poster. The record vinyls have the earliest 1/1/1/1 matrix and in the original wonderful heavy weight vinyl. The sleeve has the low front letter press stamped number No. 0008916. The value of this LP is in the low numbered sleeve.
VINYLS:
Record 1 (XEX 709-1 / 710-1) - The vinyl is in Very Good Minus (VG-) condition. The vinyl has lots and lots of minor surface scuffs on both sides. The dark green Apple labels are completely clean. The green is bold, the white is bright, the black text is sharp with NO EMI logo text.
Record 2 (XEX 711-1 / 712-1) - The vinyl is in Very Good Minus (VG-) condition. The vinyl has lots and lots of minor surface scuffs on both sides. One more visable surface scuff across side 3. The dark green Apple labels are completely clean. The green is bold, the white is bright, the black text is sharp with NO EMI logo text.
These well played vinyls and will have background noise but not over bearing and No deep scratches or jumps.
2 Black Inner Sleeves
Two black inner sleeves in VG++ condition with very minor and light creasing, no splits or tears.
4 A4 Photo Posters
The 1st press four photographs are in Very Good++/EX condition. The colours are vivid and they all have their original just pressed gloss sheen. The plain white backs have only the slightest discolouration and each photo has one or two very small minor & light corner creasings. All still are firm and sharp.
1 Lyric Poster Sheet
No poster fold out posted with this LP.
Gatefold Sleeve
The Garrod & Lofthouse top opening gloss laminated sleeve is letter press stamped with the VERY LOW number No.0008916 and is in Very Good (VG) condition. The laminate has a bright gloss and clean, but with one or two minor surface dinks. The overall white has slightly aged with discolouration and the top opening edge has some light edge wear damage, also some minor corner rounding. The number and Beatles embossed text are sharp and tidy. On opening the sleeve the inside images and text are unworn and sharp. The flipbacks are sealed and complete but with one peice of minor damage to bottom right corner. The spine has some lamintion lift but still feels solid.
This is now a very rare and hard to find record set and with this rare low number, remarkable.
I only have one so don't miss out . . .
This album is fantastic sounding record with some great tracks.
A REAL BEATLES GEM so don't miss out.
