This is an auction for an exceptionally rare low number Mono UK 1st pressl of the White Album by The Beatles. This album is complete with top opening sleeve, dark green Apple labels, black inner sleeves, all four photographs, lyric poster and the exceptionally early No 4471.
Record 1 is in Very Good+ condition. The vinyl on each side has a superb deep gloss, with a few of the lightest hairlines on Side 1 and a few light marks on Side 2. None of these marks are significant and none have any affect on play. On playing they sound Excellent, very bold and clear. There is a little noise at the intro which clears to sharp sound with just the occasional light background noise. The dark green Apple labels are in excellent condition. The green is bold, the white is bright and they are completely clean. The black text is sharp and there is only light spindle wear. The records are complete with their original black sleeves.
Record 2 is in Good condition. Both records still have a stunning shine, side 4 is very clean with a only a few light marks, Side 3 has a few more significant light marks. Both sides play well there is occasional noise but the sound is sharp and bright. There are no jumps and no pops just occasional light background noise. The labels are again Excellent, very bold and clean with sharp text and only light spindle wear.
The 1st press four photographs are in Near Mint condition. The colours are vivid and they all have their original just pressed sheen. The plain white back has no discolouration. There is only the absolute slightest corner wear. They look and feel like they have rarely been taken out of the sleeve.
The double sided poster is in Excellent condition. The colours are bold, the whites and highlights are still exceptionally bright. The folds are a little delicate but still firm. The lyrics are sharp and the corners have only the slightest wear. There is no discolouration.
The Garrod & Lofthouse top opening laminated sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. The laminate has a bright gloss and it is completely clean. The white is bright and the number and Beatles embossed text are sharp and unworn. On opening the inside images and text are flawless. The flipbacks are sealed and complete. There is very light wear to the opening edge. The spine is firm with the stereo and mono catalogue numbers.
