The Beatles Christmas Record

Issued by The Official Beatles Fan Club, and sent out by post to Members only, this flexi-disc record was not available from record shops. This was the very first of a series of these Christmas records sent to Fan Club members from 1963 until 1969, and being the first one , this is the most significant and important one, and in the condition that this copy is in (see below), makes it very attractive for the dedicated Beatles collector.

Disc condition

Not too many of these have survived, and not many will be as nice as this one.The disc is totally flat without any of the usual creases which tend to appear on flexi discs.The label is beautifully clean, it has the 'just left the factory' appearance.

Cover condition

The gatefold sleeve, which has John, Paul, George and Ringo's faces on the front. The back shows photos of the band being presented to the Queen Mother at the Royal Variety Performance in November 1963 plus a photo taken at the Fan Club HQ.

The inside of this gatefold is the actual Beatles Fan Club National newsletter to all their members from the Club Secretaries.

The condition of the sleeve, which is printed on low grade light weight card (must have been a paper shortage at the time) is excellent overall, but I am going into as much detail as I can so you know exactly how it is.... it is flat, very clean and the only blemishes I can report are as follows...1) a tiny 'nick/split' on the top fold, and this only becomes visible when opened(will easliy repair if required). 2). a very light crease and indent to bottom right, you need to look hard to see this but it's there. 3)the very slightest corner wear at top right and bottom left. I am being very picky but you know what you are bidding for.The staples which they used on the inner flap are clean and rust-free. With all these 'weenies' I would still grade at excellent, considering the low grade paper used for manufacture and the age of the item.

This must rate as one of the most sought after pieces of Beatles memorabilia , and for such a delicate item of 45 years old, this has been well cared for and a better one won't show too often.
